Keyla walked out of her parents den early in the morning. She knew this would be one of the last times she slept there. It was time to move out into a place of her own, but to do that she needed to find a place first. She set her sites on the south and headed in that diction. With her wings held loosely in the air the minya walked down the forest covered mountain side as the sun just started to peek over the mountain tops.
The snow had all but melted, the bird that had left for warmer weather where even coming back. Brooks and stream started to swell with rushing water. Yes spring was in the air and it fulled Keyla with a form of happiness she had yet to feel, seeing how this would be her first spring.

Aiko was bounding happily through the grasses, glad that the sun was shining and the birds were singing; the flowers were even starting to bloom and give off their perfumes! Giggling, she flopped onto her back and rolled around in the warm grass in a clearing, letting the sunlight hit her dark belly so she could soak up those warm rays.
Blinking, she stopped rolling, her ears picking up as she heard steps from the forest complete with twigs snapping. Still on her back, she tilted her head back and watched the winged Minya walk into sight upside down.
"Hi there!" She chirped happily, grinning.

Keyla looked around to see oh said that. "Oh! Ello!" She said in surprise. She rarely ever saw other minya but now that spring came at last so did they or so it would seem. "How's it going?" She asked as she paddled her way over to the black and red girl.

Aiko giggled and rolled over onto her belly. "Hi! I'm doing alright! How about yourself?" She stood up and shook the stray pieces of grass and other plant matter from her fur. "I'm Aiko, by the way!"

"Doing ok...but then again I only just got up." She laughed softly. "Thanks of asking." Her wings fluttered a bit as the grass and stuff went flying in the air. She had only seen snow do that till now. "Thats a pretty nice name. I'm Keyla." She bent over to sniff a flower that looked like the ones ones her ribbon and face.

Aiko giggled a bit. "Wow, you sleep in really late! I got in at sunrise this morning because the birds woke me up!" She walked closer to the other Minya, curious. "You're really pretty...." The female had such beautiful markings, including what looked like a flower over her eye with matching real flowers in her ribbon on her tail. On top of that, she had such large wings!

"But it is sunrise..."Keyla mumbled. She looked up to see the girl getting closer, so she folded in her wings. "Umm thank you?" She blushed not ever hearing a complement like that coming from anyone outside of her family. "You too! Where did you get the cool leg coverings? Or did you just wake up with them?" She really did like them and her scarf belt, and the shoulder pads made her look tough.

Aiko blinked and looked down at her arm bands. "I really don't know... I've had them for as long as I remember. I think I even came out of the orb in them!" She smiled a little. "You have a really pretty flower marking over your eye....."

"Same here...I wonder why that is..." She glanced down the the wind blown ribbon on her tail. "Thank you. My mum has one just like it, so does my sister. It seems to run in the family." She giggled.

Aiko let out a few giggles. "It's really pretty! I wish I had inherited my mother's hair. My sister has it though... Mom says that there's a brother out there somewhere, but I've never seen him. I don't even know what he looks like...."

"But if you had this, hair. Wouldn't it just get in the way all the time as your running about?" Keyla asked trying, rather poorly, to cheery Aiko up. "A brother you don't know? Wow thats weird. I have a brother that never popped out of his orb..." She wasn't trying to out do the red minya, she was just stating a sad fact.
