Your Opinion Please? All my life, I have always wanted to become an Author right? Creating a world of own, yada yada yada, You know?
And I finally, I think I might have found a story, That might actually work. Maybe.
Anyways, I’m not very fond of human people with magical abilities, but then something hit me. How about a book, with people taking the abilities and the traits of other animals? Going to a special school, so these people will be able to figure out what their animal is, you know?
i.e. A boy in the story, is named Artimis, and his mother’s animal was a kangaroo, and his fathers was a cheetah. Now Artimis’ animal is a white Hare. Having both the ability to jump high (like the Kangaroo) and run fast (Like the cheetah). Just like the actually animal “the hare” does (The hare is able to run fast because of his strong legs and backbone, and as well jump high because of his long legs). Get the picture. And I was thinking that maybe when there old enough they would be able to actually turn into the animal, in means of hiding or protection, or even in battle. I wanted to through in a few things like people who have an animal spirit also have witch abilities. And maybe a few weapons.
So really what do you think?
Please be critical.
I need to be critizied, or I will never become a real writer.
Thank-You!
The big question is, Would you read it?

The idea of inheriting animal traits is interesting and original in a sense, but it reminds me of "Animorphs", especialy when you mentioned transforming into animals. But that's more on a minor note. The overal theme could work, but the way you present it is what'll make the story. You really didn't present any sort of plot, that lack makes it allot less interesting. And this is just my personal preference, but the whole idea of a school just sort've degrades their abilities -like it's more commonplace, not so much of a big deal... I'd like to read more of a personalized story for the character, like he's struggling with these abilities as an outcast rather than a student, meanwhile there are external conflicts making the mastery of his abilities a race for his life or the lives of others -again, this is just personal preferance. Hope that was at least a little helpful, I wish you the best of luck!
