Relm laughed, readying another snowball and smashing it upon the mage's shield. "Aw c'mon Scholar! Fight back or the next one has a Dispell painted on it." She was playing now, but Relm had figured out that her Al Behd 'sister' was for some reason ready to really fight. Since there was no way either Kaleb or Aiden would have done anything to upset her intentionally -and she knew she had not (for a change)- that meant Rikku was loosing it over something else entirely. Something that was an accident.

Something that had to be diffused.

Picking up on the same thought process as Relm and realizing her intent the Highlander turned to give Kaleb a half smile. "Best ye be throwing snowballs back, Laddie. Cannae let the Lassies win 'cause we be holding back, aye?" Golden eye blinked. "Relm be like ye... she cannae dodge a' well as Rikku." With that he lobbed two balls one after the other at the side of Rikku's blonde head pulling her attention & focus to him -along with a flurry of hastily formed snowballs.

Kaleb shook his head vigorously. "I-I d-don't want to throw snowballs!" He cowered quite piteously behind the shield, already the snow piled against it from the other side hid the girls from his sight. It was a fragile wall though, without the shield behind it the snow would simply fall to the ground.

Thankfully at some level he realized things would not go well if he continued to hide behind his shield, so it would be better to let it go on his own terms. In a rather sudden demonstration of magical skill, he scooped the snow under him up into a wall that would provide some shelter for when Relm's inevitable Dispel-Ball struck. Feeling a bit better, he even went so far as to paw some snow into a ball and half-heartedly toss it over the wall.

It landed perhaps eight feet away from either girl. What a hopeless situation...

While Rikku sent snowball after snowball at their 'brother' Relm laughed, trying to turn the atmosphere more into a game. Truthfully, she was surprised the blonde girl's anger had continued so long as it was not usually like the cheerful and easy-going Al Behd to hold onto anything dark so long. She's probably caught in the rush of it. A few more snowballs should cool her off

At least Relm hoped so. She did know her 'sister' though and was fairly certain. "Aw, c'mon Scholar! You can throw better than that!" The girls were barely more than 8 feet away from them. Relm certainly could not throw much farther than she was already. She painted and ran and healed and things -she did not throw.

That was her father's specialty.

Pushing any such popping up thoughts aside Relm removed the spell from her snowball. Pathetic as Kaleb's lob had been, he had entered the 'fight' as it were. She would let him keep his shield. For now. Provided he continued to play. Relm had decided Kaleb needed more play.

Poor Kaleb.

Poor Aiden. Sleeved arm was raised to protect his face from the worst of Rikku's mad volley. His coat showed the worst of the 'damage' for snow clung to the fabric where the white balls hit. Still he was doing admirably, managing to launch a fair amount of snowballs back at his assailant with remarkable accuracy. Even when they missed they fell close to Rikku.

"Throw or magic 'em, Laddie, bu' ye best be gettin' 'em a wee bit closer t' th' lassies or we dinnae ha'e a chance."

"I can't!" he called back over the wall, while busying himself by pushing snow into the little cracks to stabilize it. The wall would hold on it's own, he realized, so he dropped the shield. It was a little unnerving seeing snowballs go over his head instead of striking the invisible barrier, but he felt better knowing the snow wall was keeping him safe from attack.

He quickly glanced over at Aiden, just able to catch a glimpse of him and the state of his white-powdered coat without peeking around the wall. "W-wouldn't that be cheating?" He asked in nervous tone. He didn't know what sort of chance Aiden was hoping for, but magic couldn't solve all of life's problems. Besides, shouldn't this be a fair fight?

Suddenly a snowball whizzed past too closely, striking Kaleb's glowing halo and exploding on the spot to pepper the yelping mage's hair with snow. Retaliation was automatic, the gentle little healer catapulted a magical armful of snowballs back over the wall at roughly the same trajectory as the one that had gotten too close. Hopefully that would distract the girls while he got the snow off his hair.

Perhaps if they all wanted a fair fight, some magic on his part might just be necessary.
