Aaron is over six months now and he never gets tummy time.

When he was about six weeks he had meningitus and was VERY difficult to calm down so he's grown accustumed to certain bad habits such as falling asleep with us holding him, being walked around alot, things like that. And one of those is no tummy time. He used to freak out and I can understand why. I mean, you ever lay down with a serious headache, it hurts. Now imagine your brain trying to explode out of your little skull x_x

Now that's he's older he's amused by more things and I can get him to lay there for oh..maybe five minutes? MAYBE. But he gets upset and it makes it too difficult to allow him to stay on the floor. I'll give him a minute or two before I pick him up while he's crying but he just gets even more mad.

I could use some advice >.<

Oh..also. This weekend is Aaron's first time in the pool. We're getting waterproof diapers, a floatie for babies, and water arm things. Anyone got any other advice? I'm pretty nervous about letting my only little angel into the water ^^;

Give him some toys or one of those playmats, something he can do on the floor? Does he HAVE to have tummy time? Maybe something else like a jumper or swing would entertain him more?

I guess I'm just worried that he won't crawl until later which is alright I suppose but you know, you always want yours to do it first biggrin

My best friend's nephew is two weeks younger than Aaron so it's kinda like, mine needs to do better although they both are doing wonderful, I'm just silly xD

By the way, swimming went WONDERFUL! Oh my gosh it was so great! At first he was unsure and was crying a bit as we put him in his floation thingie(it looks like a little boat kinda lol). Then he kinda got used to it as long as he was being tugged around. And then he was perfectly fine and happy! I was LOVING it. He also saw another baby for the first time. Her name was Lori(or Laurie? o_o )and he was just staring at her and she at him. It couldn't have been cuter. Then they left and we played a bit and she came back(with her mommy of course. she was being carried around the pool ^^)and Aaron got SO excited! Oh my gosh, the rest of the night I was saying how he had his first crush~

At the time I was all smiles but now I feel like I'm going to cry I'm so happy!

If you cant get tummy time you could try doing the bicycle movement with his legs. But if anything get a few toys that he likes and maybe one of those support pillows that go under the babies arms and helps support the head. I got one for my little girl and she can sit there for at least 10 minutes before she rolls her self off and screams bloody murder.

XD and Lones i dont see whats wrong with having Aaron fall asleep on you sometimes thats the only way I can get Kaylee to sleep! My bad habit is letting her sleep in her bouncer XD she loves the thing too much.

Does Aaron roll over on his own yet?

Try laying on your belly with him and playing with toys. Sometimes Chloe gets fussy, and as soon as I lay down on the floor with her and play, she's fine.

Since he never got tummy time when he was younger, you have to look at it from a different angle. Start him out as if he was a newborn doing tummy time at 3-5 minutes. Give him LOTS of toys to play with and make sure you're down there, too. Keep the toys just out of reach so that he has to scoot for them and encourages him to crawl. Praise him when he reaches milestone minutes like 5, 10, 15, etc. But remember, some is better than none.

And the swimming is a great idea. That will help build his muscles, too. Along with bicycles kicks and baby crunches to help strengthen his core muscles.

Don't worry, all babies develop at different stages. I'm sure yours is healthy and will be fine, but if you're really worried you should talk to his pediatrician.
