She froze after hearing the final words. He could see right through her, couldn't he? Keita had never been great at hiding things. She tore her eyes away from him. "I... don't know why you're saying that. Keski... I haven't seen him... So why would you tell me these things?" She tried to look over at the elder again, but she was too afraid that he would continue to read her. "You've seen your children. Is Keskiyo no longer a child to you? He looked up to you so much... I don't see why you would..." She paused. Keskiyo had mauled one of Morna's kids? It didn't completely surprise her. Keskiyo didn't handle his feelings well and she knew he probably didn't have much mercy for even children, but this was the first time she had ever heard of him doing anything like this to one. It made her heart ache a bit. She cared for Keskiyo so much, but that poor child... would Keskiyo really do such a terrible thing?

"No, I don't know the exact reason, but I don't think Keskiyo would have done that to something that was precious to you.... unless he was really hurt or felt threatened by it. At least back then... when I knew him. You were all he talked about. He must have had a reason. Doing anything to hurt you would have been the last thing he wanted to do unless something was really upsetting him. I know it.." Her heart was still pounding, but she ignored it. Now she was being a bit bold with her words. It was foolish, but she couldn't help it. Such terrible things about Keski were being said and she couldn't stand it! "You left him... right? Before he was ready...Is that why you left him? Because of your daughter? Because the last time I saw him he was all alone. Did you leave him because he hurt your daughter?" Keita narrowed her eyes, trying to block the tears. The last time they played before being separated, Keskiyo had been looking for Morna. Had he been abandoned right after they took separate paths?

'It's all his fault... he's the reason Keskiyo feels the need to be so violent. He's the reason Keskiyo can't trust anyone. Keskiyo wouldn't have hurt the pup unless Morna hurt him first.... that must be it...'

"Cross? What do you mean cross? You wouldn't really hurt him, would you? I haven't seen him, but he.... he... was my friend...." Would he really believe her words or would he just laugh and maybe even get angry? She had said everything honestly, except for the part of not seeing Keskiyo for a long time. It was painful to think of Keskiyo hurting Morna's child, but still, she felt that Keskiyo was a good person deep down. He was just confused and couldn't trust anyone, but it wasn't his fault. Keita felt guilt herself. If only she had been with Keskiyo that day, whatever day that was. She was his friend, and on a day he might have needed her she wasn't around. Am I any better than Morna....?

The poor little thing seemed half terrified. Morna couldn't understand why some dragonflies seemed to fear him so. Up until recently, he hadn't ever really harmed any of them.... but then again, much about himself had been changing recently. He continued to smile the same cold, sharp smile through Keita's speech while one claw traced lazy circles into the ground.

"Firstly," he said once she had finished talking. "I know for a fact you interact with my son. I can smell him on you and your reactions have cleared away any doubts I might have had. You might want to work on your guilty demeanor. It really isn't your friend when you're trying to hide something."

He stretched himself out longer, body relaxed but eyes otherwise. He watched Keita with those eyes the way a bird might watch a snake, an impersonal yet dangerous gaze. She really was a sweet thing for Keskiyo. He ought to be proud that his son was so accomplished as to have attracted a specimen like her. He ought to be... but Keskiyo had almost killed Nivorum.

"He was your friend and my son... and yet when he was angry he lashed out at someone he had never even seen prior to that moment. Strange, isn't it?" Morna lifted one clawed paw and lightly ran it across his neck. "If he had wanted blood to pay for his wrongs, he should have taken it from the one who wronged him. That'd have been fair, no? Unfortunately, he didn't have the sense for that." He heaved an overly dramatic sigh and shook his head at himself. "It probably resulted from my failings as a father." His voice was mockingly contrite. "I can only hope that he can find it within himself to forgive me some day."

Contrition turned icy cold in an instant and his dark eyes narrowed. "And for his sake, he'd better hope I forgive him. You run along and tell him that like a good girl."

Keita calmed down slightly after hearing him. Morna seemed a bit better than she expected. No intentions in hurting him.... unless it was some sort of trick. Keita had really no idea what to think anymore. Things were much more complicated now.

"Ah.... I hadn't seen him in a while... not as long as I said before, but I figured the scent might have vanished...." She sighed and stared down at her paws, feeling a bit ashamed for not being able to hide Keskiyo away from Morna. She hated to admit it, but he was right. She really did to work on her lying if she was going to keep things up, like it or not.

"I never said I agree with what he did. In fact I've never felt good about it. I hate that he did that and I feel so bad I wasn't there to stop it. Whoever your girl is, I'm truly sorry for her, but I care too much for Keski to let that tear me away from him. It just makes me want to be there for him more... and maybe try to prevent it from happening again. I don't think Keski has had the easiest of lives... and he probably didn't know exactly what he did back then," She shut her eyes and sighed. "I hope he forgives you too in a way..." A sad smile twitched on her face. Deep down she knew the revenge driven male was far from even considering forgiveness. She had to wonder if Keskiyo even knew what forgiveness was... Forgiving Morna was something even she was having difficulties with.

Her ears flattened down at his last words. "Okay. I would of either way. He will want to know." Taking the tone of his voice as a single to leave now, she stood up and took a couple a steps away. However, she looked back. "You have.... no ill intentions? Keski might not understand that right away.... so please... if you do meet him again will you be patient if I tell him this?"

"I wouldn't want you to misunderstand and carry the wrong message to dear Keski, so I'm going to make this very clear to you."

The darkness around him roiled and twisted to match the darkness within him. It was impossible for this bright innocent to understand what lay between him and Keski. The anger, the madness, the exhilaration. All were lost upon her. She would probably never know the exquisite agony of longing to devour her own family.

"My intentions," he continued with a distant voice edged with black ice. "I have ill intentions towards almost every creature on this beautiful green planet and my son is no different. He, however, invited more ill intentions when he set his teeth and claws upon my blood."

The threat faded from his voice, leaving it to chill civility. "But I am a reasonable person. If he seems truly repentant then I will try my best to let the past go. Tell him that, would you? That he ought to work up some guilt in his free time? It would really... really be good for his health if he did."

He gave a flick of his claws back in the direction that Keita had come from. "I'm finished with you. Run along now." Softer, in a tone that was almost gentle, he added, "Keski is probably wondering where you've gone."

Keita felt strange, being shooed away like a fly or something, but she didn't really have enough time to be insulted or confused by it. She wanted to get away anyway. She would do as she was told, maybe not say things in his exact words, but she had every intention of continuing her journey of meeting Keskiyo. "Yes... Goodbye..." She murmured. Keskiyo probably was wondering about her. She had no intentions of really leaving him again after this so this was the last time he would ever have to wonder.

She had no idea what to think of Morna anymore. It was hard to tell whether he would hurt Keskiyo or not. It seemed more likely he would and he was just telling her these things so Keskiyo would come find him. She knew that Keskiyo probably wouldn't believe Morna at all if she told him. Keskiyo felt no “repentant" for what he did from what she could tell. Should he even believe Morna after what he done anyway? Keita couldn't really decide herself. He was so confusing after all. He left Keskiyo and yet he didn't seem very sorry himself, but Keskiyo did hurt his poor daughter. She flinched at the thought. She hated thinking about Keskiyo hurting others that might not deserve it. It was something she usually blocked out of her mind.

After she had reached the bush she had come out of, she began to quicken her base. She tried to make it seem like she wasn't rushing, but truthfully, she couldn't wait to get away. After Morna was out of her sight she began to run. What if followed her or something? Would she lead him right to Keskiyo? Tears stung at her eyes. Trapped, that was what she was. Trapped in a situation that was going to get worse before it was going to get better. Yet, all she wanted right now was to be with Keskiyo, as if just seeing him would make it all go away, but all the trouble was leading towards Keskiyo.

Of course, she knew the way by now. She stopped at a certain point to sniff at a tree. It was a landmark for her on where to turn. After confirming it was the right tree she turned to the right and began to slow down a bit. Keskiyo, maybe he had a plan. He had been plotting what to do with Morna for so long after all, right? Maybe there was nothing to worry about...
