I recently caught this movie on t.v. For those who aren't familiar with it , it's a newer rendition of the classic novel by H.G Wells.
Any way, I was curious to see what some of you thought of it, if already having seen it.

I really liked the movie. I thought it was a very good adaptation, even if it didn't follow the book right down to the bone. But I still like the old 60's version better. I'm a sucker for the classics.
I recently learned, after picking up a copy of the book and reading the introduction someone had put in it, that the director of this adaptation was H.G. Wells' grandson. Very interesting.

the time machine was beautiful
and i was interested by the scene where he kept going back and couldnt save her
the rest of it i kinda was iffy with, nothing like the book, butchered the storyline greatly

I liked that movie quite a bit... it was a tad bit depressing at first, but the way they portrayed the future was intriguing. <3

It actually did stick pretty close to the storyline for the most part, but understandably it was expanded to fit a full-length movie.

With regards to sticking to the story-line, I don't much mind. If I wanted the book's plot, I'd read the book - I was just after a good film.
And as the film went, I rather liked it. In some ways I preferred it to the original, partly because the Eloi aren't stupid prats who walk to their doom. :/ It's just a bit more interesting like that. Whilst perhaps not as 'elegant' as the original, I still found it very enjoyable - and consider it a much under-rated film (although at least that meant I could buy it for £4).
It's a really good film for nihilists to see - a few millennia and all your life's accomplishments are gone. Yeah....

I liked this movie alot. The near future was really interesting and Orlando Jones was funny.
Also, Guy Pierce was awesome.

I personally liked it, and want to see the original movie/read the book, if i can stop procrastinating doing it.

I need to see the movie again because I barely remember that film. I was sick with a very bad flu when I watched it.

Rulin' ya universes... I saw it the other day, but I didn't like it much, for some reason. It felt as if they tried to cram too much information into too little time, if that makes sense... I really only watched it for the shiny though x3 That machine was so pretty!
Also... is it horrible of me if I laughed when his girlfriend got run over by that carriage? I found it hilarious... she just kept dying xD
...since 1992.

It's been a while since I've seen that movie, although I do recall it quite well. When I first got into Steampunk this movie was one of the first things that came to mind actually.
