I'm technically the only red deck around. The other red deck is a R/W Warrior deck. I got burned out last time I faced it (close game though) so I added the Dragon's Claw into the Sideboard to prevent that from happening again.

Discard Rouges? Short of them dropping a Bad Moon, Keldon Megaliths goes full steam. I rarely actually get to use them but they're a backup for situations in which my hand is gone. Any creature they drop is more or less burned. What is run around here is Aggro Rouge. Aggro is what fuels the metagame here.

This looks similar to a deck that my friend has. Me and him had a pretty good match with my R/G Warriors. The only difference was he played a full set of Stuffy Doll. Yours looks good though

I've been considering whether to remove 1 or 2 Keldon Megaliths for more Snow-Covered Mountains.

Also I've been consider replacing Blood Knights with Keldon Marauders.

Stuffy Dolls sounds good. I might put it in there for anti Big RG. Possibly removing the Molten Disasters for a Couple.

With 24 maindeck lands, are you tempted to use Shardvolley? What about Countryside Crusher instead of the Bloodknight, or do you deem them too slow?

As odd as it may sound, I am using much of my land nearly every turn. As such, dropping my land into my graveyard is bad for me.

My games look like this a lot :

Turn 1 : land
Turn 2 : land
Turn 3 : land
Turn 4 : land
Turn 5 : Browbeat

They've usually taken about 7 to 10 damage by then. If they take the damage, my Megaliths go into action. If they let me draw, I play another land and take the game.

FNM Report:

Round 1 : Blue // Black Control

This round can pretty much be summed up by saying Mana Flood. Each turn I have 1 to 2 land in hand which prevent me from activating my Megaliths. Game 1, I have him close to about 5 life left. Game 2, he's at one.

Round 2 : Red Burn

Pretty much your standard cookie cutter noobie burn deck for Standard. Game 1, I burn him down. Game 2, He burns me down via Furnace of Rath. Game 3, I find my SB Dragon's Claw and gain about 10 to 15 life off of it while his life dwindles. He played a Furnace this game too.

Round 3 : Kithkin

Another noobie deck with kithkin. His creatures get burned and I go for the win. Game 2, Sulfur Elementals keep his critters down.

Round 4 : Red // Black Goblins

Another noobie deck with Goblins. Similar to the Red Burn deck but has black instead of Furnace of Rath. Game 1, I burn her creatures and go to town with the Megaliths. Game 2, Dragon's Claw x2 and Megaliths for the win.

3-1 for the Night. No idea what place but it's not good enough for packs.

FNM Report: When the Stars align and the Heavens open up.

Round 1 : UB Merfolk Rouge (2-0)
This matchup was against an old friend from back when I first got into MtG. He had quit around Onslaught (when Wizards closed down their stores) but has recently returned. Game 1, we swing at each other. I get his creatures under control before securing the game. Game 2, I'm able to control his creatures from the get go then he plays Bitterblossom. I empty my hand and use the Megaliths to keep those tokens down. He eventually falls to his own Blossom.

Round 2 : UB Control (2-0)
Same deck as last week, different results. Game 1, I come out of the gate swinging with one creature. Random burn hits him as no creature stays on the field. I'm left holding a 2 Skreds, 2 Pyroclasms with 4 Megaliths waiting to be used. He suspends a Aeon Chronicler. It comes down as a 6/6. Skred, Counter, Skred, Counter. Take 4. Pyroclasm, Pyroclasm. 3 Active Megaliths ping him dropping him to 4. Go. Untap, 4 Active Megaliths ; GG. Game 2, he goes, land, pithing needle (Keldon Megaliths) and says "That ain't happening again". I never find a Megaliths for the entire game. mrgreen Scrying Sheets goes to town (3rd turn), I drop a land every turn. Eventually, I'm at 9 and he's at 8. I grab a land of the top via Scrying Sheets and he goes "I'm pretty sure you need that", Untap, draw a Shock, Drop the Land, Cast Molten Disaster for 8 with Kicker. Completely tapped out. GG. I had 2 Pyroclasms, Shock, and Skred in hand with a Sulfur Elemental in play vs a Guile and 5/5 Aeon Chronciler.

Round 3 : Red Burn (2-1)
This is the deck that forced me to put Dragon's Claw into my Sideboard. Game 1, we toss burn around, he burns me out. Game 2, I keep a 1 land hand full of 2cc stuff along with Dragon's Claw. 6 turns later, I draw my 2nd land and drop the claw. I'm at 13 at this time. My life goes up and down the rest of the game while his steadily decreases. Game 3, Starts out like Game 1 but I draw a Dragon's Claw and the game is mine.

Round 4 : Reviellark (2-0)
Last time I faced the deck, the deck flopped. The Game begins with a friend of his saying "you should win this". I go, "I will probably lose game 1 but should win game 2 and 3". Game 1, My burn decimates his life total. I shock him at end of turn reducing his life total to 2 with a Martyr and 2 Megaliths in play (plus 3 other land). I top deck a land, play it, attack with Martyr, he Plays blink, targets Reviellark, I activate both Megaliths for game. Game 2, I burn him down while attacking with a single Sulfur Elemental, he drops down a Reviellark, I drop down a Tormod's Crypt, Kill Reviellark, use crypt. He's unable to stabilize afterwards.

I end the tournament at 4-0 playing good players this week. I place 1st and get 9 booster of Morningtide. Low turnout this week.

At this point, I am going to replace Blood Knights with Keldon Marauders since my Blood Knights did nothing but get killed straight out each time they came down. I'm probably going to replace the 2 Molten Disasters in my Sideboard with 2 Stuffy Dolls as Big RG is being played by more people and it's a good SB card for the mirror.

Sidenote : my Sideboard Changes proved themselves against the decks they were meant to. Though the Word of Seizing didn't once come up against Reviellark in the second tournament match up.

Those two fall into the same problem that the Blood Knight has.

Playtesting:

Tried out the Maruaders in place of the Blood Knights yesterday. Worked perfectly. Will be keeping them in there.

FNM Report : Quit while you're ahead

Round 1 : Doran (0-2)

Game 1, Mana flood. Game 2, Mana Screw. If I didn't have mana problems, I would have been able to deal with the deck.

Round 2 : Noob with UG (2-0)

The deck worked. The games were simple. The deck was designed by a noob, played by a noob. There's nothing more to say here.

Round 3 : Random (2-1)

Don't exactly remember who I played or what I played against here. All I remember is the final score.

Round 4 : Big RG (1-2)

I proceed to deal with 2 Goyfs and a Treetop Village. Drop a Chandra to win game 1. Game 2, my land base is destroyed and I lose. Game 3, I go into top deck mode while lowering his life total. He topdecks a Seige-Gang and I can't draw either an answer or a win.
