Helen didn't really know where her child was leading her, a grown woman, on wobbly little toddler legs, through the woods; it was as if she had an innate sense of direction to where she wanted to go, or perhaps it was just one of her exploration kicks, a place she saw while she was out earlier that day or something. It didn't really appeal to her to go to some random place, once again, led by a toddler, but who was she to get in the way of the girl's fun?
"There, there," Orenda chirped, pointing at a building, a really big building at that, in the middle of the forest; it was a wonder she had never seen it herself, though, living here as long as she had. As they approached the entrance, Helen decided now was the time to act like a parent and say, "No, we're not going in, this is someone else's home," except for the fact that the toddler had already unlatched herself from her caretaker and ran inside, somehow, to wander the halls.
"Damnit, I'm horrible at this," Helen whined, walking towards the door before figuring that, if she was going to retrieve something, it technically wasn't trespassing, and it was completely okay, maybe.

It wasn't trespassing, really. Their visit was completely expected...sort of. Eventually. The mansion was frequented by people who didn't actually live there, anyway. Today, Lyrus had found himself with another of his rare days off and had opted to drop by the mansion, just on the chance that someone he was familiar with would be there or that someone worth talking to would have grown to a tolerable age.
Apparently luck was not with him this day. He had been exploring the kitchen, shuffling through Aylee's cabinets for a snack or drink or whatever might catch his eye, when a short, bright, mushroomy...thing had come running through the door. Startled by what seemed like a rabid mushroom attack, Lyrus grabbed up the nearest bottle--which happened to be plastic--and brandished it like a club as the running mushroom approached. A moment later, however, he realized it was probably not a threat and lowered the bottle, frowning at the strange toddler. It was an easy mistake to make. You couldn't be too careful in this mansion. "What're you supposed to be?"

Even though Orenda had no idea where she was going during this exploration, she'd even managed to forget how she got there in the first place, she found someone else in the big building, which was a pretty amazing feat, in her humble opinion. It was another big person, too, which kind of upset her, since she hardly ever met people her own age, but she let it slide, this time; she stared up at this person, took a look at his stance and said something like, "You're funny, this ain't baseball."
Though, as to not completely ignore his question, the toddler thought for a moment about what she really was supposed to be, but she didn't really know the answer that. "S'posed ta be Ore, if tha's what you mean," she said decisively. "What're you s'posed ta be," she chirped, mimicking him, taking a look around the room they were in, confirming what it was.
"Why're you here, anyways?"

Her answer was mildy irritating, but also slightly baffling, though it did clarify one thing: she was, in fact, a toddler. One could never be too sure on Gaia. She might have been some exotic tiny mushroom child. Odds were, however, that was she just another Sin'aeis, if she was so young and she was here. He wasn't quite sure if that were a good or bad thing.
"Not quite," he replied dryly, glancing past the little girl and out the door. Cue parent? Please? Lyrus had had enough trouble dealing with an infant when Natalia had been living with him. The idea of entertaining a strange toddler was somehow even more daunting. "Do you have a parent with you or something?" he asked, utterly disregarding her questions. "You shouldn't be here by yourself."

"Mom was bein' slow, so I came here," Orenda said simply, deciding to take a walk around the kitchen for a moment and examine some of the appliances; this kitchen was a lot bigger than the one they had at home, so it had to have a lot more things in it, right? At least, that's what she hoped, and maybe, when she was done with this room, she could move on to another one.
"'sides, you're here with me, so it's okay," she reasoned, "and mom'll be here soon," or, at least, that's what she thought, but her caretaker might get lost in this big place, like she almost did. In the likely event that her mom did get lost for a little while, it was just how she was, she could just hang around this person. "Hey, what's your name, mister?"
