[ ] Hence the quotes. Wikipedia classifies it as an "American animated television series" with the genre recorded as adventure and fantasy. Lawls.
Mm, I think it was that...Ben show. [ ]

So...Ben 10 is considered an american anime then? Also, weren't the creators of Avatar from Nick? It says it was produced in Burbank, California...doesn't that qualify it as an american series?

I no longer give Wikipedia as a valid source for anything, as any one can edit it. I don't think it's credible when you can go to any given page and have the chance that there are several different authors/editors of a page quibbling over it's contents.
Avatar uses similar artistic style to an anime, but I'm not sure if I'd classify it as American anime. But even so, it has its own style; I've never seen said style before either, so it's all its own. Hence, Americans are starting to learn to draw better. cool

veggie tales. Uh, yeah. Avatar is an American series. ... not an anime. ... and neither is Ben 10. [ ] Then Wikipedia was telling the truth. American animated television series. That's what it said. neutral
It's kind of like Invader Zim. I wouldn't call that an "American anime", but the Anime Works logo shows up with it. Anything like that can be argued.
Ben 10 was advertised on Nickelodeon as an "American anime" before it came out. I remember shaking my head about it. I brought it up because I saw a commercial saying that it was going to come out when I was in the hospital, as I was saying a few posts back.
And when it all comes down to it, anime means animation anyway. Animation = cartoons. Same diff.

T i f a And when it all comes down to it, anime means animation anyway. Animation = cartoons. Same diff.
American animated television would be correct. American Anime, no. Anime means Japanese animation. American anime would be an American made cartoon copying the Japanese style. Avatar isn't, but those of such ignorance believe it is. ... Like, I listen to teleme, which I made up, but whatever. Teleme means animated television theme music ... or background music, or whatever. All of that stuff. It's not anime for the reason that it would exclude everything else. ... [Monster] is absolutely correct that Avatar is everything of it's own, for that's entirely what it was intended to be, from the animation to the music, like a pipa as a banjo and whatnot. Avatar was created to be it's own sort of world, yet very familiar, using pieces of cultures we known, and creating something new. The characters were originally drawn by the creators, two Americans, but the animation for the show is done in animation studios in Korea, which may be why it has a sort of anime feel, mixed with what we know of animation here. The studios did switch in the process of the show, so the style does change too, if you notice. Also, since Avatar is mostly Asian influenced, people think that it's American Anime for that reason too. ... even though a lot of anime is not like that really. ... Avatar is it's own, weather people like it, understand it, care, or whatever.
... and Ben 10 is cartoon network. ... 3nodding

I guess it's true that anime just means animation, but sometimes when people generalize it like that you get words like Japanimation...I don't like that word. When I think of anime I always think of cartoons from Japan and I just call american cartoons a cartoon or an animated series. I wonder what people in Japan call american shows and cartoons...I wonder if they're popular at all over there for that matter.
