Lets start with a standard P-51D mustang which the specs is :

Now take out the Merlin engine then you stretch the fuselage from 32 ft 3 in (9.83 m) to 34 ft (10 m) which will compensate for the slight increase in weight of the engine. Then you strip out the guns and stretch the wings from 37ft 0 in to 40 ft (12 m) and also increase the height from 13 ft 8 in (4.17 m) to 14 ft ( 4.26 m).

Now the first thing to do is to install the engine which is a Rolls-Royce Griffon which has:

Type: 12-cylinder supercharged liquid-cooled 60° Vee aircraft piston engine
Bore: 6 in (152.4 mm)
Stroke: 6.6 in (167.6 mm)
Displacement: 2,239 in³ (36.7 L)
Dry weight: 1,980 lb (900 kg)

Components

Supercharger: Two-speed two-stage centrifugal type supercharger, boost pressure automatically linked to the throttle, water-air aftercooler installed between the second stage and the engine
Fuel system: Triple-choke updraft carburetor with automatic mixture control
Oil system: Dry sump with one pressure pump and two scavenge pumps
Cooling system: 70% water and 30% ethylene glycol coolant mixture, pressurized

Performance

Power output:

As you can see the Griffon is 340 lb heavier than the merlin which means the engine mounts are strengthened for it. The next thing to do is the wing's armament which on the original mustang it was 6 .50.cals which had a ammunition feed of 400 rounds per gun for the two inboard guns; 270 per outboard gun.

So on this plane it will be six 50.cals with 440rpg per gun and 4 37mm cannon with 120rpg which is why the wing is so big. The last thing is the cockpit which will have a bubble canopy for excellent vision.

June 6th 1944 The massive allied invasion of Normandy has taken place which over 150,000 men are landed and protected by a force of 6,900 vessels and they are covered by over 12,000 aircraft. Everything is going better than the Allies expected till Talon a experienced pilot with 24 kills calls out bogies. Talon and his flight turn towards the specks and discover them to be He 162s escorting Arado 234's Talon and his group are flying the Mustang so they turn to attack the bombers but they moved too fast. They could only watch in horror as the landing craft and ships were hit, a direct hit on a landing craft blew it to smithereens along with the soldiers, some others took at least five hits causing fire to break out and explode. The bombers their bombs gone formed up and headed for home while the fighters had their go at the fighters and bombers.

The He 162's had the advantage of speed and bounced four of Talon's flight riddling them with 20mm cannon fire then the pilots bailed out. Meanwhile Talon was locked in a one on one duel with German ace Eric Hartmann with 250 kills they maneuvered and out maneuvered each other till the german made a foolish mistake instead of using his speed and agility to get home he turned on to Talon's tail and fired but his shots missed beacuse Talon had thrown the Mustang into a brake stall which caused him to overshoot and he was on the receiving end of 6 0.50 cals that was raking him from nose to tail. There was a huge trail of thick black smoke when the plane went down the pilot had bailed out before hand.

Meanwhile the other mustangs were getting beaten up with four more diving in flames from 20-mm cannon fire the pilots instantly killed and 8 more damaged, but the enemy did not get away unpunished as six He-162's shot by the fighters burst into flames and exploded and five severely damaged. The rest of the he-162's formed up and flew home. Later that day Talon and his pilots were back at base when a mechanic told him " We have a new aircraft we want you to try out" it was the P-80 Shooting star. It was bigger and faster than the Mustang though it still had six fifties in the nose and four 37 mm cannon with 120 rpg and the top speed was over 500 mph. Talon looked it over and nodded his head then his pilots went and painted names on them. Talons was the Black Lighting as it was all black with a pair of red and golden Dragons on the tail and fuselage.

Talon and his group then began to practice with the new fighter studying its strengths and weakness they had only one to two days to familiarize themselves with it as the Group Commander had scheduled a mission for the first of july to escort B29's and B32's Dominators to attack oil fields in Romania.

The trip to the oil fields was long around 1000 miles which meant the Stars had to carry two 300 gallon drop tanks to be able to escort the bombers all the way. It began as a usual milk run but as the bombers got near to the target heavy flak started coming up and hit a couple of B29s which dove out of the formation with their wings on fire and exploded, Talon leading the fighter escort spotted only 12 chutes from the bombers. Talon and the rest of the flight continued the escort to the IP which the fighters then went a head of the bomber formation and patrolled the sky for enemy fighters.

All of a sudden Deadeye talon's wingman spotted a huge formation of fighters approaching from 10 o'clock low. "Deadeye to Talon huge formation of unknown fighters approaching from 10 o'clock low lets say we go get them" "Talon to rest of flight unknowns inbound Lets go" as soon as he said that talon punched off his tanks and pushed the throttle to full power then he started a left descending turn. The fighter formation split up after seeing the Shooting stars coming their way, Talon then could make out the black crosses and Swastika on their tails. "Talon to flight they are bandits alright looks like 60 Me109s escorting 100 Focke-Wulfs 190s so lets get them" he said then Talon hauled his Star around and put it on a Focke-wulf 190's tail he approached to 200 yards and opened fire iin which a short 1 second burst slammed into the FW190s's engine and cockpit killing the pilot. This plane dropped into a spin bleaching fire and smoke. a Me109 then dropped on his tail so Talon hauled back on the stick and kicked left rudder to come down from the sun. The Me109 pilot lost sight of the american and relaxed it was a fatal mistake down came Talon with guns spitting fire he raked the German and he too dropped out pouring out fire and smoke.

Meanwhile the rest of the flight were scoring victories 30 German fighters going down in flames but at a cost of only 6 stars shot down. The bombers got through the target and delivered their payload and the rest of the German fighters fled then the Stars hooked up with the bombers and escorted them home.

Back at the base Talon got out of his fighter and stretched running his hand along the aircraft You done good girl He thought as he went to the mess hall for a cup of coffee. While drinking his coffee he heard a strange sound it was getting louder and he went to investigate what he saw was Germany's newest jet fighter the Focke_wulf Ta183 escorting Arado jet bombers incoming
The pilots had just managed to dive into a slit trench when the enemy formation struck. The Ta183s were skirting around watching for any jets taking off to intercept the bombers. The Arados relesed 500 pound bombs which hit fuel and ammo depots causing them to explode and the Ta183s then came in strafing the Stars, 4 Shooting Stars were destroyed and 6 damaged. The formation then rejoined formation and left.

Talon and the other pilots were shaken but unhurt by the attack and went to check with control. The commanding CO over Talon granted permission for talon and his group to attack olmer airfield which was one home of the dreaded Ta-183's and to catch them on the ground and destroy them.

Talon after getting permission from the CO gathered the pilots and told them what the mission was the men cheered as they were going to destroy the vanted Focke_Wulf Ta183's and Arados. Talon said "good hunting" and dismissed his men. Talon walked out of the hut and went to talk to a crew chief when he got there he said " I want half of my flight armed with rockets and bombs and the other half armed with rockets only" the chief nodded then went and got some guys and started working. The fits took less than two hours. Talon then climbed into his fighter and ordered his flight to follow they then took off.

Talon and his pilots approached from low level and to avoid being tracked by German radar and ruin the element of surprise. The enemy pilots not aware that they were going to be attacked started prepping their planes for a mission when the enemy flight struck. Talon split one half of the flight to attack the buildings with bombs and the others to attack the runways and planes with rockets.
