Heyo, anyone going to march in that, or watch it for the marching?
Hawaii All-State Marching Band (HASMB) is going, and this is my first time to the mainland. ^^

Hope you like this big slab of continent. We generally like your place better. ^^
My band has only marched in it once, I think. I can't be sure. But that was years and years ago. I really hope we get to do more exciting stuff next year. Rose Parade would be so spectacular it wouldn't even be funny, but I'll set my hopes one something like Disneyland for the time being. :0

Congratulations! 5 and 1/2 miles' worth of marching. Better make sure you're in good shape. 3nodding heart Since the Rose Bowl has pretty much shot down any chance of my university playing in it again (and hence, the marching band doing the parade) I'll be content to watch it on TV. Let us know where you'll be in the parade so that we can cheer you on! cool

Ah, thank you! ^^ That makes me feel so good about myself.
I come from the crappiest Hawaii high school with the cruddiest marching band, but my director picked five of us to go because we were supposedly the most dedicated and in love with band, and he thought we'd do well. I'm so glad. ^^
But I'll be sure to let you know! Theres going to be a lot of us...

Congrats! Having marched the parade quite a few times let me just say that it is definitely a worth while experience. Hopefully you'll be wearing a good pair of shoes and it won't be raining.

Besides, my marching band has 20 people. I don't think Rose Bowl would want us there.

I'll be there. I just got accepted into the BOA Honor Band in the 2009 Rose Parade on Tenor Saxophone =D.

Yeah, just find the band in red, white, and blue with the BOA logo on both sleeves XP. Then find the tenor saxophone section. Your parade tunes sound like they'd be really fun to play as a band XP.

I go to a small high school in Hawaii, James Campbell High.
The band program there is near extinction, thanks to the principal. ;
It's depressing, really.
But I'm really glad that my director chose some of us to go.
I guess that means we actually do have a shot at bringing the band back.

And yeah, the music is really fun to play together. We had rehearsal yesterday, and as much work as it was, it was a blast playing with all the students on O'ahu. I just can't wait til we join all the students from Maui and the Big Island. whee

We're uh, the British looking ones.
We're modeled after the Coldstream Guards. We've kept the theme for 40 years!
And we've played for the Queen numerous times. Well, not me...at least not yet.
I'm a piccolo player! Well, one of them.
