Hmmm. Which house was it again?
Fiddling with a half slip of paper, Flitch glanced at the scrawled address for what was probably the fiftieth time since he'd hit this street. Lore had dropped him a letter asking for a recipe for a bake sale and her address, and Flitch, despite having no knowledge whatsoever in the world of sweets, had done his best to try and pull up what would be a suitable recipe. Hey, sticky rice and egg custard worked together, right?
Glancing and reciting the address once more, Flitch finally found Lore's house. Yay! Smiling and pocketing the letter once more, he went lightly up the front walk to knock on the door. Hopefully Lore was in...

Luckily for Flitch, there weren't THAT many houses by Bass'ken Lake, and this one was fairly recognizable due to the many duck families wandering around the grass.
Unluckily for him, it wasn't Lorelei who opened the door. It was the android, Ophelia, and in her arms was a baby Sin'aeis, a grumbling baby who didn't look too happy to have the sun in her eyes. You see, Flitch was too short to block it.
"May I help you?" asked Ophelia.

Ohh, how cute! Flitch resisted the urge to fawn over the little cute baby (grumpy though she looked), and instead looked up at the woman holding the baby.
"Uhm. I'm Lore's friend Flitch. Is she in...?"
This was the correct house, right?

"Oh, yes, she's in but..."
"Thanks, Ophelia," Lorelei plastered on her dazed smile and nudged her way forward, "I'll take it from here."
"But Lorelei, what about your recipe hunt?" Ophelia looked worriedly to the taller Sin, who continued to nudge her way past the frill-wearing android.
"Please don't worry about it, let me talk to Flitch," Lorelei's plastered smile widened, causing Ophelia to tilt her head.
"You seem awfully intent on--"
"Ophelia, isn't it rude to keep a guest waiting outside?"
Ophelia's etiquette skills finally zapped in, and she stepped aside. Bebe, meanwhile, had latched onto Lorelei's stola, and started to chew-- taking out her anger on the fabric.
"Ahhh... Flitch, what can I do for you?" Lorelei tried to smile, even as her stola got nomnom'd.

Flitch smiled as soon as the duck girl appeared. Oh good. So this was the right house after all.
"Hi Lore!" Flitch waved, the neatly-transcribed recipe in his hand. "I brought the recipe you asked for. It's a little unusual, but-- uh..." He trailed off as the baby girl began gnawing on Lore's dress, the other girl not even noticing. Was that okay to do...?

Lorelei looked down at Bebe and laughed nervously before gently pulling her stola out of the baby's mouth.
"Don't mind her, she's teething. I'd rather have her chew on my clothes than on, say, my arm," Lorelei smiled rather creepily as she pat the baby on the head. Ophelia shook her head before ducking back into the house, taking Bebe with her.
Lorelei moved over next to Flitch and peered at the recipe.
"I haven't heard of that before, but luckily Dad made Mom go out and get him some rice, so this shouldn't be a problem!" Lorelei gingerly plucked the recipe out from his webbed hands, beaming.
"Now I finally have all four recipes and I can start cooking! Thank goodness... thank you so much, Flitch!" with another dazed expression on her face, Lore leaned over and gave Flitch a quick peck on the cheek.

"Ah." Well, that explained the gnawing.
"Oh, you're welcome. I hope it'll work out for you." He flushed slightly at the kiss, but made no comment on it. It was a friendly kiss, right? Right? Not that he didn't MIND, but...
"Uhm... Is there anything else you need? I'm free all day..."

"Well," Lorelei tilted her head, contemplating. On one hand, he didn't bawk at her kiss, so maybe she could take things a step further by asking him out on a date. On the other hand, Flitch was rather clueless, so he might not realize...
Well, what's the harm?
"I was thinking, maybe after the bake sale you'd like to go on a date, maybe?" her clueless smile stretched out across her face, "A date with me?"

"A date?" At least Flitch knew what a date was, and it was finally beginning to dawn on him just what was being implied by the offer. Romance? This was certainly something he'd never expected to appear in his life.
Oh, but why not? Lore was fun to be around, after all. "I'd love to."
