Tearh was older now, older, she gulped as she weaved through the grass blades that touched her side. When had the moons gone by so fast? Light blue eyes peered around, and she took anther step, stopped, waited, and crouched down. If she was ever going to be good at something, maybe..it'd be hunting? Though as soon as she took one step forward, she cracked a twig beneath her paws (though there were no small animals nearby, surely they would have been aware of her presence now).
Sighing, her ears swiveled back.
Flicking her tail, the white fur touched the earth jsut slightly so as she continued along towards her set path since this morning. She was on a hunt, of sorts, but more of to find something already known, a friend.
Indaba.
She smiled, would he notice how big she had gotten since last time? She smiled to herself, careful to peek around where she was, still a nervous female, still cautious but....she wanted to see the only friend she had made on her own.

Unaware that he was being hunted, the black and white male was strolling contentedly through the grasses, enjoying the clear morning air. He'd had a bath yesterday afternoon, meaning the white of his coat was still nice and clean and white. It wouldn't last long, and he'd be back to at least slightly dingy after his next hunt, but for now he was good and clean. He'd enjoy it while he could, because with bathing came a stubbornly damp mane, and so he didn't bathe unless he actually needed it. A little dust never hurt anyone, after all.

Tearh stopped and swiveled her ears, peering forward through the grasses, a smile on her face, she wriggled with anticipation, what would Indaba think of her since she had grown? She flicked her tail, she didn't want to wait any longer but, again, she didn't want to rush out at him and seem awkward. After all, Indaba was the first friend Tearh had ever made outside her family, and she didn't want him to think she was weird or anything.
He looked so white and nice today, his mane so fluffy, she rubbed her paws together, and stood straight up, though she was older, she was still smaller than he was, "Indaba!" she called out, trying to catch his eye and she moved towards him.
What would he think when he saw she had grown?

Hmm? Someone was looking for him? Indaba's ears flung forward, and he searched curiously for the caller. It was Tearh! It looked like she'd grown, too, since the last time he'd seen. "Oh - hello, Tearh!" He beamed happily. "How've you been?"

Bounding towards him, a bounce in her pawsteps, she smiled as she skid to a halt, though almost knocking into him, and gave him a grand smile ear to ear. "I found you!" she said with a soft laugh, brushing a paw against the ground, "I'm not too good at hunting yet, so I'm surprised!" she said with a giggle, her blue eyes watching his.
"very good, look!" she made a circle, struck a shy pose and smile, "I grew a little bit, though your still bigger, and have your fancy nice mane," yes, his mane was still black and soft looking as ever.

Uh-oh! Indaba braced for playful impact, but it never came. Phew, saved! Not that he really would have minded. Grinning right back, he said, "It just takes a little practice! I'm sure you'll have it down in no time."
"I noticed! Definitely ready to start hunting." The older lion chuckled. "Fancy, huh? Well, I see you still have a nice white tail! Maybe it's tasty?" Indaba made to snatch the appendage in question.

Tearh half grinned, "Hopefully, I want to show my family that I can do something, besides swim, I...I guess I just want to be good at something, but, have it be different then having my parents teach me, you know? Like, to surprise them," jeez she couldn't form coherent sentences well. Ah well, talking smoothly came with age she guessed, so someday she would not have to worry about a thing.
"Of course fancy, so sleek and black," she said sticking her tongue out slightly in a playful manner, and hey!" she said with a giggle an pulled her tail so it curled around her, though she crouched down, as if she was intending on pouncing on him, "you better watch out, or I'll just have to hunt you and that mane of yours if you try to snatch my tail..."

"Different than your parents teaching you?" Indaba asked distractedly, as he too fell into a playful crouch, staring at her tail. "I could probably teach you, if you wanted." With that hopefully distracting offer, he went for her tail again, despite the fact that it was curled around her.
Of course, he'd never actually taught anyone to hunt before, but...well, he was a hunter! It couldn't be too hard...right?

"Well, yea," she probably didn't make much sense, but, it made all the sense in the world to her. Blue eyes shined in the sun as she smiled at him, a smile spread across her maw, "really?!" she exclaimed excited, distracted, and she literally watched in slow motion as Inda went for her tail. She decided to not pull it away, it was, silly, adn fun to play this sort of game, besides, Indaba was so nice, he wouldn't pull too hard on it, he didn't seem like he would do that.
"Could you? Or, give me some tips or something, please?" she asked with shining light blue hues as bright as the sky.

Whoo! Indaba snatched victoriously at Tearh's tail, and stood beaming at her with the end of it held carefully in his mouth. "O' cour'," he answered through the mouthful of tail, grinning.

Tearh laughed lightly as she watched him try to speak with her tail in his mouth, was really a jawfull of fluff that amusing? Seemed so. She bat at him with a paw lightly, playing. Tugging her tail away from him, she wondered if he'd let go of 'his prize' but she smiled, she was excited, it gleamed in her light blue hues. "What should we do, where should we go?" she rambled quickly, anticipation was eating at her, though it was getting later then she had also anticipated, caught in the moment, her sense of time was never on que. Would they have enough time?

Batted at, Indaba ducked and let go of Tearh's tail, chuckling. "Well, we need to find something to hunt first. Waterholes are usually a good place to look."

"Then lets go look!" Tearh exclaimed, smiling she peered about, eyes alert as well as her ears that swiveled to try and pick up any sounds nearby. Tearh rubbed her paws together, fidgeted where she stood. This would be exciting, and she'd be able to show her mother and father how strong nad intelligent she was She smiled to herself, so grateful that Indaba would show her something so wonderful, so useful for the future.
"Race you there," Tearh said with a smiled and darted off towards the water hole, peering behind her to see if Indaba was going to follow, perhaps by the end of the day she will have caught something, if no caght, then learned something that would someday help her hunt down some prey to bring home to her parents.
yes, that'd be lovely.
