Hello again, my lovelies!
I have begun this thread out of my love of stories, poetry, visual art, et cetera inspired by Queen, and the warm, fuzzy feeling one gets when converging with fellow creators.
More specifically, I've created it because of all our tendencies to get stuck--completely, utterly stuck--on certain things while creating these Queen-inspired works.
I'm sure a lot of you Queen fanfic creators out there already have a good idea of what I mean by "certain things." You know. Certain things that are so cut off from the reality of everyday life, so immersed in the deepest depths of Queen obsessiveness, that they would baffle any normal person and probably prove a challenge for even the most elite of the die-hard Queen fans.
Things like, "If Brian and Freddie were arguing over the recording process and Brian randomly shouted that Freddie looked bloody hideous in a leotard, would Freddie a.) get even more pissed and retaliate with an insult to Brian's guitar prowess; b.) say nothing and leave the studio to nurse his wounded pride; c.) fly into a rage and inform Brian that it is called a unitard; or d.) all of the above?"
So, there's my big speech for this thread. Just throwing it out there, to see how many fellow fanfiction/fanart writers are here at Break Free.
Oh, and speaking of which, here's something I was wondering:
1. I'm writing a fanfic which parodies the Queen guys, exaggerating all their known characteristics, which of course requires a pretty extensive knowledge of their personalities. I have Freddie down pat, and I have a a basic knowledge of Brian and Roger, but John...not so much. Could anybody fill me in on some of their personality traits that are fair game for utilizing in a humorous, parody-like story? Thanks!
If you're stuck on a certain facet of your fanfiction/fanart/etc.--maybe you're not sure about what Freddie's college was like, or you need info about Tim Staffel for a pre-Queen fic you're writing, or you're struggling with the "What if..." syndrome, feel free to chime in with your question! I am rather knowledgeable, and there are many here who are complete and utter experts, so with all of us together we WILL vanquish the foes of our creativity! We WILL! biggrin
