Coming Again

Nikoli slipped through the entrance's door quietly, his shoes making a soft noise on the floor with every step. Holding loosely on his right hand was a pair of books bringing them a little closer in an attempt to hold them.

Taking a quick glance around he waited patiently, wearing a slight awkard smile on his soft features as he twisted part of his golden necklace between his bright pink fingernails.

Shuffling his feet, Nikoli turned to the side sighing silently with the books pressing against his chest. He had hoped he would find Alida here, but so much was his luck that, appearently, no one was there. Soon, he would need to go back to Albrey's apartment to give him his thanks...and possibly play with the twins.

There was another sigh and Nikoli slumped down on one of the seats, placing his books on an arm chair near to a hand reach. Since the night he encountered the gang and was taken by the wizard-man he had been dazing off lately. Something that didn't occur often, but when there was a distintic and alien feeling to him.

A third long breath and the Banir teen stroked mindlessly and yet with some attention on the first book before grabbing it boredly in a spur of habit. Picking out a small pen from the table and proceed to note down.

If he would wait, why not do something good while he was at it?

Ginny literally rolls through the door, her slender body curled up in a ball as she rolls, bumping into the couch nearest the door and coming apart laying on her back. She grins, laughing as she shakes her head to clear up the dizziness.

Sere walks in slowly after her temporary guardian, giving her funny looks as if to say WOW you're silly... Instead, she just shakes her head at the hopelessness of Gin'.

Jumping up in surprised, Nikoli looked around wildly at the source of the sound that had so abruptly shaken him out of his dreams. Startled, he blinked at the new people. Had he met them before? Oh no! What if he did meet them and forgot?

Nervously, he placed aside his book settling it down on a table infront of him with it's pen inside. Shuffling, he flatten down the wrinkles from his pale blue dress shivering lightly.

Oh dear!! What was he going to do?

Swallowing hard, he glanced at the two person and offered a shy nervous smile before falling into silent mumbles

Nikoli watched in silence, book opened once again on his lap. Peeking some stares from the corner of his eyes he continued to jot down notes on his book letting long deep breaths from time to time. Where was Alida?

Nikoli shifted on his seat, trying to accomodate into a more comfortable position. It was getting darker.

"I-I should l-l-leave..."

He mumbled, to no one at all. Sighing again, he fidgeted with his hands thinking in all his possibilities while nibbling.

There was a light yawn as the teenager banir covered his mouth with light skinned fingers, polished with a pale pink colore on his fingernails. He should really stock up on them, it had been months since the last time he had ever went shopping......or ever had a hair cut for the matter.

Running a hand through his long pinkish hair, he pulled back a darker strand of hair carefully placing it just behind his ear. Maybe he would pierced them...it wouldn't hurt anyways would it?

Sighing, he continued to shift nervously, it was getting darker and darker. And he hadn't even started to think on what was really important.

A second sigh, this one more frail and down-felt. How would he be able to ask Albrey to be his guardian? The guy already though he was a girl and it made poor Nikoli even more jumpy everytime the wizard would speak to him. And everytime he tried to correct him, the words would scarced and escape from his mind.

This could be troublesome.

Lute's green eyes glowed abit as something distracted him. . . the site of a slight bit of pink hair. "Sakura?" he spoke softly moving to touch Nik softly on the shoulder. . . his heart beating fast at the though of one of his close friends maybe came back.

Nikoli felt a hand on his shoulder, jumping suddenly shaken (and once again startled) he turned his neck to see who was scattering everything on the floor. And found..a young boy?

"O-Oh!! I-I'm s-s-so-sorry, y-you s-sc-scared me.."

The demon banir stuttered, feeling his heart racing after the spook he got. Sliding out of the couch, carefull of not dirtying his dress he began to pick up his stuff blushing brightly in embarrassment.

Lute was obviously slightly disappointed but he leaned down to help gather the papers with Nik. "I'm sorry. . . I mistaken you for someone else and made a mess." His voice was soft although there was still coldness left in it. Lute knew he had to get cold and be able to keep it if he wanted to make his plans come true.

Elisa took a few moments to calm down still giggleing happily. Only to quite and follow Tsu glance with a glance of her own wondering what he was looking for. Looking to Lute once more afterwards as if to cheak up on him. . . smiling abit at the site of him and Nik hoping they were making friends. . . it may help.

Having heard this, it only shaken more Nikoli both by having done such a mess, Lute's voice and helping him gather his book.

Could it be he had disgusted the boy with his attire?

"O-oh, I-I'm r-re-really s-sorry!! P-pl-please do-don-don't w-worry a-abo-about this. I-I al-almost g-g-get the-them a-a-all"

He blurted out, shaking all over as he tried to pile his books together. The soft red tint on his cheek never leaving at once and seem to shrink down in size.

Lute couldn't help smile abit at how Nik seemed to be stressed and nervous . . . it reminded him about the campfire and the kids. He had seen the boy once before. . . but never got to really talk to him. Of course Lute usually kept to himself. "I'm. . . not going to hurt you." He couldn't help but say that in a fully soft tone. He knew what it felt like to think you didn't belong and to be hurt cause of it. "Just calm down. . . it was all my mistake anyways."

His eyes widden lightly staring at Lute with his books closer to him than ever, and felt his face get hotter fearing of fainting by a over-blood pressure. Shaking his head, he offered a nervous smile at him trying to regain some composture.

Shaking his head lightly he kept that small smile on his face. He was beginning to feel silly and embarressed.

"N-n-no, r-really...."

He mumbled this time, looking quietly down as he spoke before he fell into an awkard silence fidgeting nervously.

Lute paused unsure how to take this boy. . . perhas he should just leave him be. Turning he chuckled abit to himself. "I never really got the chance to speak to you. . . although I've seen you before. You shouldn't be so nervous. . . your brave. . . to ware what you want willingly. I can't face who I am usually and here you willingly show it. Don't lose your bravery cause of others. . ."

Nikoli froze, watching speechless at Lute and this time he really felt he was going to faint.

But instead... he turned his face away. clenching a hand into a fist as if in need to hold onto anything. His colorful bangs brushing gently against his face as it shadowed most of his face.

"N-no...I-I.....T-thank y-you..."

He stutered, unable to think of anything coherent. It was really surprising and yet so relieving.

"I-i-I'm N-nikoli...."

"Lute Seishi Adonis." Glancing back to the boy Lute held himself as if he was from a proper family. Probably was originally. "Where are your friends Mr. Nikoli?" He smiled abit more just shaken his head at how Nik seemed to be acting. "Or did you come to quietly study for school before I interrupted you. . . If you need time I can go back to my training."

Nikoli let out an involuntary chuckle, placing the books safely on the table. Straightening up Nikoli smoothed down his dress.

"O-oh..I-i was s-searching for s-someone...bu-but I t-think sh-she's not here"

He said, smiling more freely though. There was still some blush on his cheeks, having been completely red-faced.

"A lot of people seem to not be around anymore." Lute seemed abit down as he spoke what he felt only to glance around the room. "No I think for the moment only me and Elisa seem to be here. . . who are you looking for though? Maybe I could help for once. . . I may even be able to tell her your looking for her." He wasn't sure why he offered. . . maybe he felt he could relate to Nik some. . . the pain that could be there. . . maybe he admired the boy alittle.

"A-ah! H-her n-name's A-alida...B-but I-I r-really do-don't wa-want to bo-bother you L-lute."

He said, feeling a little more brighter when he mentioned his friend. Looking gently at the book he had gotten for her.

"I-it's j-just..I-i wan-wanted to b-bring h-her a bo-book...b-but I h-haven't b-been a-able to...."

He trailed off, as if remembering something but it soon passed and Nikoli blinked shaking his head.

"O-oh...I-it's r-really l-late, is-isn't it?"

Pausing at that Lute glanced to check on Elisa showing he was semi brotherly towards her at times. "Your right I should take Elisa home and make sure she gets some sleep. . . take care Nik? Maybe we could meet again sometime."

He smiled, bringing his things in his arms he gave a small bow to his head.

"I-i w-will look f-forward t-to it"

He stuttered, but the meaning was genuine. Giving another slight bow at all he walked silently towards the door, not long before giving another quick look and dissappeared.

Greetings, tea and ice-creams

Bright pink-polished fingers tapped gently on the wooden coffee table, trying to decide on his own dilemma. Beside his hands, there was a phone and a scrap of paper with numbers on it and scribbled with an elegant handwritting was Alida's name with phone number and address.

It had been awhile since he had ever seen her, after the 'incident' it was less and less the time he could meet up with her. And everytime he would bring her books. Now, with a roof under his head (for now) and a phone to call from it made sense that, at least he would message her!

But what if he messed up and instead called to the Waco Taco place?!

Well, such things happens. Don't they?

Taking a deep breath as if steadying himself he began to dial waiting for the click to sound from the other side of the line.

Rime was gone for the afternoon, leaving Alida in charge of the household, with a bit of help from some of the more responsible members of their menagerie.

She was draped on the couch, lightly twirling some of her green hair between her fingers as she scrawled into her diary. She sighed, actually rather bored. Avery wasn't tearing around, Ritsu had holed up in the room, and Sybil was playing with some of her friends, so she greeted the ringing of the phone with some display of happiness.

Avery looked up from where he was scribbling in his own journal, and looked over at Alida before jumping up, shouting, "I'll get it!"

He dashed over to the phone, and said with enthusiasm, "Hello, Dragona household, this is Avery!"

Alida smiled, and waited to see who it would be.

"He-hello?"

Nikoli's heart leapt, he hadn't really thought at all on what would he say when the phone was picked up. Swallowing hard, he placed the auricular close to his ear.

"Eeerr...G-g-good e-evenings! C-c-could it b-be A-a-alida i-is there? I-is Ni-nikoli..."

He paused, writhing in his hand his dress's helm. Feeling a sudden dryness in his voice he tried to look around on his side of the line something to drink. This was no time to become mute.

Avery made a small face. What a weirdo. But he turned and looked at Alida with one hand over the mouthpiece.

"It's some guy named Nikoli, and he says he knows you, Ali."

Alida smiled brightly, and nodded, making 'go on' motions with her hands.

Avery sighed, and said into the phone, "Yeah, she's here, and she asks what you want?"

Alida made a frowning face at Avery, and scawled on an empty page, BE POLITE! to which he rolled his eyes.

"She got all excited, so I don't think you'll have a problem asking her out- AH! Ha ha, you missed!" he hollered away from the phone, having successfully dodged the pillow thrown at him. He stuck out his tongue with his eyes closed, and got the other pillow smack in his face.

"Ow! Ali! I'm telling Mom!" he said, and in reply Alida pointed at the phone sternly.

"Yeah yeah... So... Nikoli, right? What did you want, again?" Avery asked, completely forgetting that Nikoli had never actually said what he wanted.

"R-reeeh?!"

Oh great, maybe they thought he was some freaky shady person now. Nikoli thought with embaressement adding another level to the 'Nikoli Stutter Scale' up a notch. He should really try and get a cold glass of water.

"U-u-uh, w-w-we-well i-i-is s-sh-she b-bu-busy t-th-th-this a-a-aft-aftee-afternoon?"

He asked, averting his eyes in anxiety untill they settled on a pair of dripping wet toddlers running around one room to the another only drapped on a towel as they were chased by a flustered man equally drenched (with cloths) trailing hot behind the two squealing girls.

Staring in shock for a second, Nikoli shook his head down feeling an over blood-rush to his head. Sighing deeply he brought the phone closer just in case the kids wouldn't trip on the cable. Playing nervously with a pink bubblegum hair bang with his left hand as he continued to speak.

Avery waited while the person on the other end shakily made their way through the sentence... but his patience quickly grew out, and by the end of the sentence, he wasn't even paying attention. When, after a couple seconds he realized the person was done talking, he blinked.

"Oops," he said, and held his hand over the receiver to ask Alida, "Uhm... He wants to know if you're busy."

Alida shook her head, and wrote, I'm never too busy for Nikoli. Tell him that.

Avery rolled his eyes. This was getting boring. Why had he felt the need to rush to the phone again?

"She says she's never to busy for you. God, that's mushy. I don't wanna be your go between anymore, Alida!" he whined loudly.

She frowned at him again, and wrote, He's my friend, Avery. Be nice to him.

Avery sighed, and spoke into the phone again.

"I guess that means she'll do something with you. Maybe you two should meet somewhere and leave me out of it."

That would suit him just fine.

That would work better for him, Nikoli thought brushing aside his bangs with a swift wave of his hand managing to crank out a slight smile of anxiety.

" Y-y-yes! P-ple-please, c-could y-you as-ask her i-i-if she c-can m-meet me a-at the G-Ga-Gambino B-Boo-bookstore? A-a-any t-time w-works f-fine fo-for me.."

He said, feeling a growing excitement of meeting with Alida once again. Oh! If only time could go faster and less awkard. It would certainly help him if it did.

Avery made a small put upon face, and turned to Alida with a look of resignation.

"He wants to meet you at the bookstore on Isle de Gambino, but time is up to you."

He waited a bit impatiently for her response. He was bored now, and he was fidgeting. He could see sunshine outside, and he didn't want to write in his journal anymore...

Alida held up her notebook, which read, That's great! Mom should be back soon, so I'll go as soon as she comes back. Is he free then?

"I don't know. Why don't I ask him? Hey, lover-boy--" and her he skillfully dodged another projectile, this time a wadded up piece of paper "--are you free in a half hour or so? Mom should be home then, and Alida can't go 'til then."

Alida was glaring at Avery over the top of the couch, her blue eyes barely visible over the top of the couch as she fixed him with a venomous look. Avery looked over while waiting for Nikoli's response, and he gave his sister a slightly wavery grin, swallowing hard.

Nikoli must have spaced out (or fainted) for he lated long minutes to respond with a great difficulty as if an eartquake was going on over the side of his phone. Trying to cool himself down someone placed a glass of fresh water before smiling at the teenager. Albrey waved at Nikoli and pointed at the water and then at him.

Sighing in relief, Nikoli thanked the man and took a long draught of water feeling a little embarressed. He now remembered why in the first place he wanted to meet up with Alida.

"Y-y-yeah....I-I th-think I c-can"

He said before going into a more softer voice to the point of mumbling.

"C-c-can y-you te-tell her I-I need t-to speak t-t-o her ur-urgently?"

Avery strained to catch the last of the other boy's words, then snickered. He looked over at Alida, and said, "He said yeah, and that it's really urgent he meet you." He was about to add more, but a look from Alida actually managed to make him think twice about his quick mouth.

Alida looked concerned, wondering why it would be urgent, but she nodded to Avery. She then got up to get her things ready, so that they would be ready when Rime got home.

Avery turned back to the phone. "She's getting her stuff ready now, and mom should be home in a few minutes, okay? I'm going to go now, too, cause I have things to do." He waited for the other boy to either deny this, or to say good bye.

Nikoli let out a breath he had held in for how long he didn't know. Nodding to himself he thanked Avery and hung down the phone. Standing up from the couch he took a small leather bound book and proceeded to say good bye to Albrey and notice him.

Might as well get there as soon as he could.
