Group information:The Covenant took shape when Braden Benjamin, the corrupt preacher, approached struggling wrestler Mark Wylde about joining his group, with the objective of cleansing professional wrestling. Rechristened Mark Sacrament, the Covenant tag team quickly rose up the independent ranks. Mark suffered an injury in late 2006 that impeded the group's jump into the big leagues. Braden took a contract with PHCW to keep himself in practice and to gain some exposure for the group when Mark returned to action. Braden was approached by the Carter twins, Chase and Colt, soon after signing to PHCW and accepted the twins into the Covenant. The four-member Covenant hit yet another snag when travel expenses proved too much for Braden and the twins. Benefactor Garrett William Stephenson stepped into the picture, and offered the group a large sum of money and television connections. The Covenant, now at full five-member strength thanks to the successful in-ring return of Mark Sacrament, is currently touring the independent scene once again.
