Kahlua had to reach up and grab for the ball, but the unusually gangly toddler managed it…somehow. With a slight air of indifference he bounced it lightly to Francine.

“Not really. He dreads me coming for it anyway. Then again, most people would dread someone who they beheaded that took their head right out of their hands and put it back on. Anyway, I’ll be going when the younglings go to kill him. Kahlua’s his younger brother, whom he killed. That interests me. They both do share the family haughtiness.”

Shocker! Francine caught the ball and grinned toothily at Alek. She wasn't useless at games! Feeling silly after her surprising instant of sportiness, she rolled the ball to Bailey instead of bouncing it.

Archie laughed then, though nothing but a breathy chuckle escaped. "You put your head back on? And your son was dead?" And here he'd thought falling out of the sky and landing with a new body was out of the ordinary. Then again, he vaguely remembered something about Alek having been killed in order to be reborn. He supposed it was the same for Kahlua. "Well... I wish you luck with that, I guess?"

Bailey grinned happily, getting the hang of this game now. With a quirky smile, he rolled the ball to Alek next. He could get used to playing human children’s games like this. It didn’t seem so bad, and the playmates were decent.

Dartsmoore snickered a bit. “Careful Archie. You never know who’ll end up with reborn godlings from Tison in this town. Everyone seems to be getting them. Who knows, maybe you’re next on the list.”

"Alek goes for the winning goal!" the boy said for no reason, rolling the ball at Kahlua again.

"Oh, no, I hope not," Archie said, smiling slightly. "I mean, kids are cool and stuff, but I've got a bunch of people to take care of already. I'd have to, like, add on to the house or something." He watched the kids play for a moment. "What's he a god of?"

Kahlua smirked and caught the ball. Turning quickly he threw the ball lightly towards Francine, intending to keep the game going, and going fast.

“Ice.”

The ball rolled past Francine a couple of inches. She turned her body to reach it, then spun her torso back around, launching the ball past Bailey, across the street, and into the neighbor's yard.

"Oops," she said, standing up and brushing off her skirt again. "Come with me?" she asked Alek, and by extension Bailey and Kahlua, if they wanted to come. Franny didn't much like the neighbors.

Archie nodded, watching the arc of the ball as it flew over a car parked at the curb. How Francine managed to be that clumsy was surely the question of the year. "Be careful," he warned, doing his bit of parenting for the day. He turned back to Dartie. "Can he make sculptures and stuff? What other kinds of kids are there?" His curiosity at having a god on his lawn outweighed his fear of baiting the powers that controlled irony.

Bailey wasn’t too eager to stray far from Dartie, even with his newfound companions. Strange territory meant trouble, and it was best to stay the hell out of that when he could. Kahlua, on the other hand, rose up to follow the other two and see where they were going.

“At present, no. He won’t gain any such powers for a few stages yet. They don’t start getting anything till about Child or Preteen. He’s only a toddler so I’ve got a bit of time before I have to deal with him using ice powers. He does like the cold.” She commented. “There are WAY too many gods to just list off all of their powers. Some are rather….ironic. The deity of apathy is bright pink and has green hair. All sorts of deities.”

"Oh." Pink and green? God of Apathy? "Oh, really? That's just... okay." Archie didn't comment further on gods or ice sculptures, choosing instead to watch as Franny and Alek crossed the street carefully and approached the rubber ball that rested on Seamus Smith's crispy, brown front lawn.

As if he had been waiting for this very moment, Seamus himself appeared at his door, accompanied by the shriek of rusty hinges he left that way for moments just like this. The pudgy, chain-smoking veteran hurried to make it to the ball first and when he did, he picked it up and chucked it into the street. As if by magic, a massive, bass-exuding SUV sped past, flattening the ball with a defeated pop.

"Well... um," Francine blubbered.

"I guess that's it then," Alek added.

"GET OFF MY LAWN!" Seamus bellowed.

Alek turned and led the way back to the house, checking to make sure there were no more speeding SUVs before stepping into the street.
