myspace.com/versaillesjp In March 2007, Versailles was formed by KAMIJO (ex LAREINE) and HIZAKI (ex SULFURIC ACID), then Jasmine You, who was from Jakura and HIZAKI’s solo project, HIZAKI grace project, joined. Lastly, TERU (ex. Aikaryu) and YUKI (ex. Sugar Trip), who were strongly recommended by the Rock May Kan, which is a long established venue in Tokyo, joined the band. KAMIJO and HIZAKI already had a concept of a new band since Autumn 2006 and took six months to find the appropriate members to express it. Their concept is “The absolute Youshikibi (beauty of form) sound and extremes of aestheticism”. On the 29th of March, the names of the members were revealed, the name of the band being announced on March 30. On the 2nd of May, they posted a trailer for Versailles’s appearance on YouTube. Since then, they received a lot of proposals for tours and interviews from overseas. So far they have interviews with only international media/press. At the end of May, a German ..ary TV crew came to Japan and the band was interviewed. In June, the interviews with the German TV crews were on Sankei Newspaper (one of Japan's domestic newspapers) and Versailles was featured in the article. Because of the large amount feedback, “Versailles Band” was in Yahoo's top 5 search-keyword ranking. Since then they have been featured on TV as the hottest band. Versailles made their first appearance with a showcase on June 23rd, followed by their first performance on the 24th. On these dates they also distributed their very first single and DVD single, The Revenant Choir.
I recently heard of the band, and they really captivated me; especially their song "Sympathia". Hizaki, the guitarist of the group, reminds me of Mana; and probably may have topped him with cross-dressing, Hizaki even has chest things on his clothes.

I agree, Hizaki looks much better than Mana, imo. But then again I like how they have their Rococo-themed, as opposed to Mana and some of his Vis. Kei/Lolita mix.

Yes, comparing Hizaki to Mana, Hizaki has a more feminine appearance with his face and overall structure. I adore Mana's way of fashion with his mixture of both v.kei and Lolita, it was fantastic; but keeping it Rococo-themed is really nice, it gives more of a feeling of the Lolita Fashion, perhaps GothLoli/etc.? I'm still fresh with the vogue, so I'm still learning my way through though. ^_^;

Yuki-Neko90 I went to there concert in tokyo before they left on there Euopean tour at the begining of the month. Was a great concert! Oh really? t.t Oh, how I envy you, lol. XD It's so great to be in their local area as you are, it's really convenient; you have the connections. With their touring across other nations, they move from different spot to spot, and all the fans could do is hope they take their pin and stick it into their location on the map. ^^
I read your siggy, An Cafe-concert? That reminds me, I heard that Bou moved to another band called "Wednesday", he mentioned that he thinks that crossdressing was the only reason he got his fans...But as of late, no news or songs/videos over it.

Jazminny HIZAKI: Guitarist O O ; THAT"S A GUY~!!!!!!???? there goes my feminine ego -weeps- ah their image is good but what do they SOUND like? ANSWER : SAME OLD SAME OLD. They aren't REALLY awesome but they aren't horrible. The lead singer sounds a lot like Gackt. Sympathia is the song i liked. 'The Red carpet days" is better as far as hearing Hizaki play. He's pretty awesome.

I love Kamijo and Teru their so HOT! I love Teru's hair and I want to get my hair like his. Versailles is my favorite Japanese band. Every member is such a good musician and Hizaki has become my new guitar idol. I hope Versailles does not split up or I will be VERY sad. heart
