I think the other post that I saw makes a good point. There are some sex offenders that are charged because they had sex with their girlfriend and they were a couple months apart from being both legal and they had been in the relationship for over a year. I mean, is that person even psychologically damaged? No, I don't think so. I think he was abused by the system and instead of getting people that do it all day, everyday, they got the "good people of society."

As far as serious sex offenders, particularly rapists and child molestors, I think there is some room for it. However, I think the level of psychology would have to differ. The way I see it, is you only get a few chances to get into someone's mind especially someone with "problems" like that. The psychologist can do as much as they can but it won't work if the person is reluctant to fulfill it. It's also a harder thing to accomplish because it seems like a lot of men still have this idea that they are the dominant figure and we have an extreme problem because these are acts of sex. People can get extremely irrational and unprecedented because of sex. Ultimately, it could outweigh what their psychologist told them and they could just do it anyway.

However, if you try and remember that rape and molestation is usually a case of control the psychologist can then try and "play" with that thought process and see if they can turn it around. Again, though, you face a problem because control involves ego and dignity and other factors that people don't let up on and get out of control.

Not all child molestors are considerably sick in the head.

You'd be a child molestor in some places for having sex with your underage, teenage girlfriend if you were an adult.

We minors are treated like we couldn't understand anything, and while the government is after people like LaFave, who could be serving as long as SEVENTY FIVE years in prison, and is a registered sex offender, they are missing the truly violent, sick criminals who rape for power.

Like a ***** once told me:

"If the government really wants to catch the sickos who molest kids, they need to reform laws. If you want to find the needle in the haystack, you need to make the haystack smaller, not larger"

I am fully against age-based laws. They only cater to a minor's feeling of unworthiness and inequality to adults. This can also lead to abuse...

The circle of crime is a horrible one, it is.



No, the true solution for those who cannot be rehabilited is to use them for testing, and keep them in the mental hospital. People who rape young kids are terribly sick, and the reason medication does not help control their 'urges' is because most child rapists aren't *****.

*****, murderers, rapists, facists, and war profiteers should be shot, and killed in a public square.

Maybe they can be rehabilitated, and maybe they cant, but the death penalty is not going to be an efficient solution. The law cannot legislate morality. should rapists be put to death too, or only child rapists? What defines a "child"? Are our courts SO perfect that they never sentence an innocent man as a rapist? What if a child lied about what happened to them, what if they identify the wrong person?

Government is by nature fallible and inefficient. You would use it to punish people who have truly harmed someone else, but in doing so it would hurt even more people.

Anybody can change, and most people can be rehabilitated, if they can't then they are more likely to be mentally damaged than evil...to tell you the truth I don't know what we SHOULD do about them, but if we left it up to the people to take care of themselves, I think that we'd have a lot fewer child molesters than we will have if the state handled it.
