The bartender had apparently regained more of his composure by the time he returned with Kyo's drink. "You smell like you crawled out of the seventh layer of Hell." He said with a bit of disdain. The singed holes in his clothes were punctuated by the smell of burnt flesh. Kyo chased him away with a sneer. He no longer felt the need to play nice.

Kyo almost made the mistake of sipping his drink. Luckily, he caught a whiff of it first. He understood then that he would have to do like he had so many times before. He bolted the entire glass, and held down the contents by sheer force of will. The liquid burned the entire way down, and made his stomach churn like the wake of a battle barge. He shuddered in his seat while the warmth started to flow through his system.

Many-as-One slithered out of Kyo's body and sat in the empty seat next to him. He peaked around his host's shoulder at X before turning his attention back to Kyo just to find him waving a dismissive hand. "I'm not in the mood to fight, M. I have to conserve my strength," He said to Many-as-One in his mind. "I'll have to change it's binding soon." Kyo gesticulated by jerking his thumb in the direction of his sword's hilt. As if the handle had anticipated this, it began to writhe. Many-as-one blanched visibly. He didn't look forward to helping out with that particular endeavor.

X stood, threw a coin on the bar and gave Kyo a pat on the back as he stood. "Good fight kid." He walked towards the door. X now filled with a renewed feeling of purpose did not open the door, but with a heave he placed his foot firmly in the the side of the door opposit the handle with a grunt. The door splinted at the edges and the hinges where ripped from the jam with youthful exhuberance. X stepped out the door into the street, the air still thick with the smells of the fair, and of the previous battle. In the street there where people, many of which where returning to upright posistions, opposite the defensive they where just on. With a wicked smile he walked through the middle of the crowd and made his way to the woods. Somewhere out here is the dark mage he needed to find. And for the first time since he could remember he was willing to do whatever was needed to learn the dark arts, even if that meant giving in to what he had been fighting all this time. He would become stronger...regardless.

X slid his mask on, lowered his head, and ran headlong into the woods. The branches grasp for his coat, but finding no such hold. The moon sits in the sky like a cat stalking its prey. The air is thick, it seems to just sit in his chest rather than help his cause. The blood is pumping through his veins, but the lack of decent oxygen is causing his muscles to burn like the very fires of hell. Pushing the pain out of his mind, as he always does, he didn't have long before he had his attention focused elsewhere. Sliding uncontrollably he had to grab a nearby tree to stop himself. Stopping in the nick of time he can now see what would have awaited him had he failed to stop. what looked to be about a one hundred foot drop down a steep cliff full of jagged rocks and gnarled roots that where spaced sparsely about the face giving it a kind of Gothic feel when viewed with the jutting edges of the rocks. And at the bottom of the hill was a small campsite that seemed to emanate darkness even through the light of its solitary fire. A kind of eerie chill ran up his spine, as a lump formed in the pit of his stomach. X thought to himself with dry swallow. "Thats where I'm headed."

"What bu'iness do ya have with this lot?" A dark figure strolled out of the shadows of the forest dressed much like X in a black cloak that covered his person from head to foot. The hood was drawn up making his face barely visible but what could be seen obviously wasn't human. Off white fangs, stained with the blood of a resent kill glistened in the moon light as the creature smiled. "Come to make a bargain with them, have ye?"

The creature tugged on his gloves to secure them more tightly, a habit he always did, as he stepped closer to the side of the cliff to look over. As he pulled on the material claws were painfully visible as they had torn though the tips of the gloves. "They aren't the friendliest bunch, they aren't. Rather gut ya than look at ya twice." Whether his statement was truth or an old folks tale was hard to say, his tone was much like an old man telling a ghost story.

X looked the creature over, strangely enough he felt nothing except his need to become stronger. Without hesitation he looked the creature in what should have been his eyes and said, "I have to learn to use black magic, and I need to learn fast. Im not scared of a battle, and if there is knowledge to be had from it than so be it. So, is there anyone there to learn from?" He could feel the uncomfortable sensation in his gut as the anticipation began to well up.
