Wrestlemania's Main Event Decided Last week, Shawn Michaels won an over the top rope battle royale to win the number 1 contender's status to a world title of his choice at Wrestlemania. There was some question as to which champion he'd choose to go after, having been screwed out of a number 1 contender's match for the WWCW World Heavyweight title by the XCW Undisputed Champion, Zarel Damone. Would he go for the title he got screwed out of, or the title held by the man that screwed him out of it? The Heartbreak Kid made his decision this week. The main event of this year's Wrestlemania will see the Showstopper take on the XCW Undisputed Champion one on one. Going into Wrestlemania, however, there are a few other things left for both men to settle.
After his announcement, Shawn Michaels was confronted by Cartwright, the man he'd superkicked the week before. he was then ambushed by Cartwright and Zarel. The WWCW World Heavyweight Champion, Christian Cage, came to his aid, allowing Shawn to concentrate on the XCW Champion. However, Zarel had another enemy going into the match, that man being the Phenom, one of his tag team partners for the XCW vs WWCW match at Hellfire. The Phenom had made a declaration to not only his WWCW opponents, but his XCW teammates, stating very clearly that anyone that got in his way at Hellfire was an enemy. And he showed just what he meant when the bell tolled and the lights went out. When they came on, he chokeslammed Shawn Michaels and delivered the Last Ride to the champion, then chased Cartwright backstage.
Shawn Michaels was obviously not pleased when he got up, obviously wanting to gain an edge going into Wrestlemania. But the chairman had a little surprise for everyone.Jarel: I made a tag team title match between zarel & cartwright and the brothers of destruction. i want this feud cleared up once and for all. The Undertaker can't get the world title, but he can go for the tag titles. And i made the match a no disqualification match. But I'm not finished yet. You see, Zarel is going to be double booked on the next Impact. Leading into Wrestlemania, I'm bring back a match we haven't seen in XCW in quite some time. Invented by Jamie Madrox, and made famous by both him and Shawn Michaels, Zarel will also face his number 1 contender in nontitle action in a rooftop match. The winner will name his match type for wrestlemania."

Big Red Machine Going to Wrestlemania After Jed managed to defeat the Big Red Machine for the Intercontinental title, the chairman made a decision that obviously didn't sit well with Kane. In order to get his rematch for the title, kane would have to defeat Jed in an Xtreme rules match. Should he win, he would get his rematch at Wrestlemania, assuming of course that Jed is successful in his title unification match next week on Impact. If Jed is unsuccessful, Kane will have to wait for his rematch for the gold, but he'll still get jed at Wrestlemania.
This week, Kane defeated Jed one on one, with a bit of help from his older brother the Undertaker. Jed showed how Xtreme he was when he leaped from the top of the titatron to land an elbow on the chest of Kane, who was laying prone on the stage. Unfortunately for Jed, the Undertaker had his sights on intimidating everyone involved in the XCW vs WWCW match at Hellfire, and came to his brother's aid. While Jed was distracted, Kane recovered enough to chokeslam him off the stage and pin him. So as long as Jed is still champion going into wrestlemania, Kane gets his title rematch. If not, he gets Jed anyway. And the chairman has agreed it will be an ambulance match. One way or another, the Big Red Machine is coming to Wrestlemania, with his sights set on destroying Jed

Hellfire is going to be a real Inferno Last week, we saw Christian cage in only his second match in XCW win the WWCW World Heavyweight championship from Damien Ace on Ace's very first title defense. despite Samoa Dan's attempt to help Damien retain the gold in a bizarre effort to get his rematch for the title. It obviously backfired, but the XCW Chairman granted him his rematch anyway, and this week made a contract signing between the new champion and his challenger.
As usual, the purpose of the contract signing was to name any stipulations for the match. When neither Dan nor Christian offered any ideas, Jarel Damone suggested an inferno match. This excited Dan, who always looks forward to lighting things up and Christian agreed merely to get on his way to proving he is a true champion. Much to the chairmans chagrin, the former champion made his presence known, delivering a four of a kind to the boss before the current champion and number 1 contender beat the hell out of him. So for perhaps the first time ever, Samoa Dan must light up something that isn't a joint, and this time, it's for the World Heavyweight championship.

Cruiser champion Retains the Gold Over the past few months, the Cruiser division has kicked up the level of excitement with an ongoing feud between two of the Damone family members, the pioneer of the cruiser division Janelle Damone and her older brother Brandon Damone. The two have faced off several times, both one on one and in a triple threat match with Shawn Michaels added to the mix. In the midst of Brandon's feud with the Heartbreak Kid, Shawn even cost Brandon a match against Janelle. Just last week, Janelle was in the last four people in an over the top rope battle royale, earning herself a shot at Brandon's cruiser championship.
So the match was set. One more time, brother vs sister, this time under Xtreme rules. In the early going, Janelle took it to her brother, landing several counter moves and a couple of high impact moves that left Brandon more than a little dizzy. However, Brandon fought back with several high impact moves of his own, targeting Janelle's head. Following an Impaler DDT on a steel chair, Brandon locked in his newest finishing move, the triangle choke submission hold, forcing his younger sister to tap out. We caught up with the champion after his successful title defense.Brandon: You know, I'm glad that's over. The Damones are a very competitive family as I'm sure you've noticed. Half the time we don't even know when we're on good terms or bad ones. But for the past few months me and Janelle have been on the outs. Championship gold will always drive a wedge between people. In my debut match, i took the title from Trish Stratus in a triple threat match with her and shawn Michaels. Janelle wasn't exactly pleased, having lost the title to Trish a few weeks before. So for the past couple of months, we've been going at it. Yeah, I was concentrated on Shawn Michaels a lot more originally, but that's cuz he kept trying to kick my teeth down my throat. But now that that feud is over, I can concentrate on what to do for Wrestlemania. Being a champion, i guess I can expect to have a title defense. And I can't wait for it. It's the biggest show of the year, and I'm going to show just why the cruiser division is the best division here in XCW.

Unified Champions With the war between XCW and WWCW, it was only a matter of time until titles began to be unified. the first title unification match was this week on Impact, for the tag team titles. The XCW champions, Zarel and Cartwright, took on the WWCW champions, Damien and Snypa. There was a lot of question as to who would win this match. It could be argued that Damien and Snypa went into the match with the advantage, with both Snypa and Damien having never lost to Cartwright. Then again, Zarel is the Undisputed champion, having taken the fight to the undertaker in their last match to keep his gold. So perhaps it was all balanced out.
Going into the match, due to snypa's boasting, Cartwright obviously has something to prove. So it was Cartwright and Snypa starting the action off, with Cartwright surprisingly getting the better of the exchange. Snypa tried to turn the tide by going to the outside, but this was the beginning of the end. When the champion stepped off the apron, he reminded everyone that he too is a 6'10" monster with amazing power. He demolished Damien quickly with a fallaway slam, and added insult to injury, or perhaps injury to injury, with a chair shot to the head while Cartwright distracted the referee. Zarel took the tag and continued to dominate the match for his team, eventually locking Snypa in a triangle choke. Damien made the save, but zarel continued to dominate. Once Cartwright entered the ring, attempting to finish Snypa off, Snypa mounted a comeback, even managing to hit his Hangtime finisher but unable to capitalize. And then things got a little weird.
The Undertaker made his presence felt for the third time that night, perhaps to send a message to the two remaining competitors in the Hellfire main event, or perhaps to make sure Zarel and Cartwright unified the titles for him to take next week. whatever teh case, the Undertaker's arrival distracted everyone. Ever the opportunists, Zarel took Damien out and went into the ring, delivering a fatal falling powerbomb to snypa, then letting Cartwright hit the Cartwright crush to pick up the pin and his first ever victory over Snypa.
Next week, the unified tag champions will defend the gold against their partners at Hellfire, the Brothers of Destruction. With the Undertaker determined to make Zarel's life a living hell, how long will the title reign of Zarel and Cartwright last?
