"That's why you're here, ain't it, Loki? To take care of me?"
Loki glanced dully at Sarah; she knew perfectly well the answer to that question was a resounding "no." He took a slow, calming breath -- they had been through this many times, and he was tired of her seeming inability to retain any sort of information -- and said forcedly, "Yes, Sarah, that's why I'm here." He found it better to just go with it than to argue.
He turned his attention back to Neon. "So. How many of 'us' are there here, anyway? Just a ballpark figure will do."ankles all the way.

"I'd guess around fifteen in the whole city. It's such a small number for a place so big...But that's how it goes." He blinked and glanced up at the dark sky, hearing a far off thunder. "I think a storm is coming this way...Maybe a few hours."
A pale hand suddenly slid onto Neon's neck and then his jaw, causing the angel to jump. A just as pale, handsome face appeared behind him, the owner of the hand. "Hello, Neon. What's this these days? Did Pace come to bore you?"
Neon swatted lightly at the vampire's hand, sliding away from his grip. "No, Crepuscolo. And a 'hello' would do just fine." He ignored the vampire for the moment and turned back to Loki. "I apologize for the interruption."

Sarah hadn't seen a vampire before, and was a bit unnerved by the man's sudden appearance. Almost instinctively, the hairs on the back of her neck stood on end; she had a sudden, irrational dislike of the newcomer. She narrowed her eyes at him in distrust. "Loki..."
"It's fine, Sarah." Turning back to Neon and the newcomer, he said, "Oh, it's no trouble. Though I would ask for an introduction."ankles all the way.

"This is Crepuscolo Notte," Neon said, gesturing a hand to the tall vampire standing just behind him. Crepuscolo smiled lightly and waved just once. His eyes were silver with a slight tinge of red around the edges, his hair a raven black, falling to frame his face. "Crepuscolo, this is Loki and Sarah." Crepuscolo viewed the two for a moment, eyes lingering on Sarah for a moment, knowing her as a werewolf from her scent.

"Oh, stop." Ignoring Sarah, he nodded in acknowledgment at Crepuscolo. "Forgive her," he said. "She's... hesitant to trust new faces."ankles all the way.

"Oh, she has more reason than that to dislike me." Crepuscolo grinned widely and draped an arm over Neon's shoulders, leaning on him. The angel gave him an annoyed expression but said nothing. As Crepuscolo grinned, his canines grew out into the large vampiric fangs. "Our kind don't tend to get along."

"I'm well aware of that," Loki snapped. "But she isn't. She's... new at this."
Sarah hunched up her shoulders behind Loki in an almost automatic response to Crepuscolo. A low snarl was in her throat.
"Play nice, Sarah," Loki said. He looked at Neon, gesturing at the vampire behind him. "Call off your vampire and I'll call off my lycanthrope," he said, not seeming to care that both Crepuscolo and Sarah were people rather than pets. "We can't have them making a scene out here in the middle of the street, now, can we?"ankles all the way.

Neon suddenly reached over and lay his hand on the arm that was laying over his shoulder, burning it. Crepuscolo yelped and withdrew his hand, scowling at Neon. The angel returned a violet, warning gaze, slightly annoyed. It took a lot to get Neon annoyed, but when you did, it was a bad idea. The vampire nodded and withdrew his fangs as well, standing behind the angel with a silent, silver gaze.
"My apologies," Neon said, bowing his light-haired head to the two.
