This rp takes place on a series of islands set in the northern seas. Think almost Japan-like: mountainous, with the northern parts having long, cold winters, and the southern parts having a milder climate.

Shimofuri is set on the biggest, most westward of the the three main islands. Together, the islands form somewhat of a circle.

It is uncertain what kind of age this rp is in. There aren't really any electronics or high-tech machinery, and some people still live in huts, but other than that, there is not much of a difference.

The main religion seems to be very similar to Shintoism, containing emphasis on spirits, ancestors, and two twin main deities. The western island is believed to be protected by a female wind/earth deity named Garuda, and the eastern islands are believed to be looked over by a male water/fire deity named Saramanda.

Magic is very commonplace. Adults use charms for good fortune or to ward off evil spirits or bad luck. Children often know more advanced charms, using them only for play and games.

The demons surrounding the village, are like magical wild animals and creatures more than anything. They are often very aggressive and will attack anything they think they can take. Some are very powerful. The human-like ones are often the most powerful, as they have enough power to disguise themselves as such, and the intelligence to converse and communicate with humans.

Description: Ana - only slightly older looking (she is thirty afterall)
Bio: Ana is the shrine maiden of Shimofuri village, and also the village’s teacher. She is very skilled at various charms and magic, and is determined to make a fleet of strong adventurers that will help protect the village from danger.

Description: She has long auburn hair, brown eyes, and slightly tanned skin. She likes to put her hair in ribbons, but somehow they always fall out. She wears a jumper sometimes, but mostly wears a simple shirt with overalls and sandals. She likes to wear brown and green.
Bio: Blossom is that one kid that always seems to brighten someone's day with just a smile. She is very bubbly but also very tomboyish, and is usually playing with the boys and getting her clothes all dirty. She is also very social, kind, and considers all the townsfolk her family, and most of them consider her their own child. When she grows up, she wants to be a shrine maiden at Portal Shrine.

Description: She has shaggy blond hair, a set of cold, violet eyes, and fair skin with freckles. She likes to wear darker colors like black, purple, and dark blue, and fruffly dresses. She is almost always wearing her giant purple barrette.
Bio: Both Sonata's parents died when she was really young. She was adopted afterwards by her aunt, who she hated. In effect, she tried her best to be independent as a child, and mostly took care of herself. She is very defiant, and would do things like not do her share of work, and leave in the middle of the night to go to the mountains or forest where she would relax, practice magic, or read. She doesn't have any friends, so she spends most of her time alone. When she grows up, she'll probably become a traveler, going wherever the wind takes her.
