Thoron continued on wordlessly, floating down thge hallway with Aardun just behind him. He crossed a beam of red light bisecting the hallway at chest hight, and immediately, poison darts spewed from the walls at an alarming speed. None of them met their mark, however, as every single dart passed straight through him as embedded itself it the wall opposite its launcher.

Noryoku reached over and activated a data panel. A holographic map of the city glowed to life. "It looks like if we take a left at the next intersection, we can get to the security control. Then we can shut off all these traps."

Noryoku glanced over at Sek. "Tartarus? The city under the mountain?" He turned back to the map. "In that case then, the labs should be at the end of the corridor." He deactivated the map and followed Thoron down the hall.


Aardun ran up behind the two men from Chronos. She looked Sek up and down. So this is the great Sek. It is a pleasure to meet you. I have heard so much about you. I am sorry about the loss of your city.

Thoron approached the entrance to the laboratories, but before he could pass through, the blast doors slammed shut. Several panels in the ceiling and walls slid back, and four Guardians emerged. They faced Thoron, blades held at the ready, but made no further move.

Noryoku stepped forward, "They seem to be some sort of automated defense system. Probably a last resort if Tartarus or anyone else ever this far." With blinding speed, the nearest Guardian lashed out with its sword. Years of piloting aircraft had honed Noryoku's reflexes to an amazing level, but he was still caught off guard by the attack. He jumped back, but the sword caught him in the leg. Noryoku went crashing into the wall.

((I felt that the labs, being a point of importance to Atlantis, would have something better than pitfalls and laser guided darts defending it. These are what the Guardians look like. Guardian They're the robot on the left.))

The other Guardians had been standing silent and motionless up to this point, but when Noryoku stepped forward, they immediately went into attack stances. Thoron, being the closest, became target number one. The Guardian closest to him swung at blinding speed, but he countered without much trouble. Disengaging, he took a swing at the Guardian with his halberd and locked blades with it. "Get Noryoku into the labs." He said, a hint of strain in his voice. "I'll hold them off until you get in.

Thoron disengaged once more and with blinding speed, hacked the Guardian in two. Spinning, he slashed horizontally, cutting a second from the shoulder to its hip. The third and fourth Guardians paused. Aardun stepped out from behind them, her hand raised. A metallic clank rang through the hallway, and the Guardians came apart, piece by piece, until all that was left was a pile of hardware.
