So in the next couple of months, Toastie gets to file for her income tax. Thing is, the amount she paid in is far less than the provincial minimum that they can tax you for... soooo she's going to be getting ALL of it back. With over $500 in the pocket when she gets her money back, she's going to be heading right out to the electronic stores and shopping her a** off for a decent LCD monitor to replace the crappy one on her desk.
Monitor is priority #1, Toastie's already got RRSPs in the bank for when she's old and ugly, and the one she has now keeps blinking, the picture wiggles and distorts sometimes, and it's basically on it's last legs - not to mention the fact that it's so big it takes up 50% of the desk space alone.
So the question on everyone's mind right now is... what kind of monitor will the Toastie buy? And that's a good question.. Toastie's surfing through the webz and looking at different makes and models. So far, she hasn't come to any real conclusion... When Aaron's brother comes to visit for his birthday, Toastie's going to quiz him on the best kinds of laptops and monitors in his opinion (he went to school for that kind of thing XD neeerd. :3) and maybe even take him to the computer stores and have him point out the kinds of things she should be looking for. :3
In the meantime, ebay has nice pictures, and dell.com gives me the specs of theirs XD

I suggest Newegg.com. They have a really good selection and really cheap prices. 3nodding

Meh... the net prolly is the best place to get stuff... and Newegg is one of the reliable ones (if you can find a good one on Amazon though, go there... ^_^)
But, you gotta be careful online... hell, even Newegg won't honor warranties, if you do a rebate (I learned that the hard way)...
Oh, and you should see about a home for your old monitor... if it's going out, either find a place that properly recycles 'em, or find an electronics guy that wants the flyback outta it (and various other parts)... ^_^
But, as for brand... I have no idea... hell, the only LCD I got is a freecycled one that really... it works, but doesn't... and I'm not good enough to fix it... ._.( )
However, I'd imagine that any name brand would be okay, especially if you get it from a reputable place... ^_^( )
The only current issue I can think of, though, is that if you do a lot of gaming, the... not refresh rate... but something like it, the time it takes for an image to "disappear" on a LCD monitor is a little long, and can blur certain games... but if you look around, you can find plenty that won't be a problem in that regard... o.o

Now if i could find a decent monitor on the internet that's the 1 time out of 10 where i can use paypal, i'd be in business xd
I really want to talk to my boyfriend's brother first though, i trust his sense more than some computer salesman at future shop or staples. Plus, he used to work at staples 3nodding ☼ ìn my sσƒt sεrvε drεαms...
