If there is a chronic history of insomnia, she may want to talk with a doctor about it. Also everyone's sleep cycles are different - where one person may need 8 hours of sleep to be well rested, others may need 10, and other do just fine on 6. It all depends on the person.

There are many things that can be tried to help get extra sleep. One of the reasons that I suggested that she talk with a doctor is that there are prescriptions that can be taken (my hubby was on one for a short while), that have little to no side effects. You can also try any of the following:

* Eliminating caffeine in the evenings at least several hours before bed (or cutting it out entirely if necessary)
* Taking a warm bath (with scented herbs or oils).
* Aromatherapy...some scents like lavender or sandalwood, are very relaxing.
* Herbal teas made with valerian root or chamomile.
* Listening to calming music.
* Learning to meditate.
* Sometimes just having a specific bedtime routine can help you sleep better, having a routine that you do every night can help send a signal to your body that it is time for it to "shut down" so that when you lay down to go to sleep you will drift off easier.
* Sometimes writing in a journal or diary can help if your sleep is being interrupted by excessive worries or specific "stressful" problems. Just the act of venting and getting something off your chest (so to speak)...even if it is only in a journal, can help us fall asleep easier.

I don't need anything right now, but you should have a class in the Academy on Reiki. We do not have one right now, and You would be paid more than free. On top of that, I'd love to learn the craft, always have. Just a thought. ^_^

I've always been under the impression that Reiki requires a set of in-person attunements for someone to practice it.

I think there should be more classes on Energy Healing in general.

Unfortunately, as -X-Luciferin-X-Bandit-X- mentioned, Reiki isn't something that can be taught over the internet, as the attunements have to be done in person.

There are a couple of threads in the Academy on Healing/Energy and Chakras - I usually just keep an eye on those in case there are any new questions.

I tend to have motivation problems. Or lazy problems, depending on how optimistic you are, lol. But anyways, I try to get myself ready to do simple tasks (clean the spare room that is in desperate need of a cleaning, go to work, do something other than sleep and watch tv all day, etc) and than end up sitting around or complaining. Please help. I am on Eastern time. I guess any time of the day is good for a motivational boost. 3nodding In fact, I am going to ork in 15 minutes. Pre-thank you. smile
