That's very...odd. How far away is your long distance relationship?
I've never tried one myself, but I don't personally think I could manage.
My best friend managed it last year for a year while her boyfriend (incidentally, my cousin), but they were in the same state at least. They were just 3 hours away from each other. They're still together now but she moved down to his city for college. It was very hard for them even at 3 hours apart...but they'd already been dating for two years prior to his move downstate.
