Before you tackle each planet in each sign specifically, it's a good idea to get an idea of each planet's general domain. i.e. mercury being about how you think and communicate - so mercury in aries means, at the most abstract level, that you will think and communicate roughly like an aries, or in an aries-like fashion. So, perhaps assertively, passionately, energetically - and so on. As you've noted, mars is assocaited with sex, so aries mars should mean an assertive, passionate lover (mars is also about the way you get what you want, though, so keep in mind this will be in an assertive manner too).
Ascendant is how you appear to others (so, coming across like an aries). Moon is emotional responses to things, emotions, and the way you view your home - so an aries moon might be passionate, but also with simpler emotional responses (as opposed to, say, a scorpio moon, for an pbvious example). Quick to anger or sadness but also quick to get over it should circumstances change, I guess.
Venus is about romance and possibly also friendships, jupiter is friendships, luck and possibly education (not sure), and I'm not so good with the outer planets, although neptune has something to do with the imagination.
House placements are also relevant here - they're supposed to indicate the domain in which the planet-and-sign combination is relevant. so, for example, the 10th house is career I think, and so a mercury in aries in the tenth would mean that passionate, honest, assertive communication will be relevant particularly to one's career (though it will probably also be a general tendency in the individual). In the eleventh, associated with friends, it'll have a different meaning.

In the eleventh, associated with friends, it'll have a different meaning. Adding a bit here! Mars is also career/how you go about getting things Venus is also about pleasure & beauty (what you like aesthetically etc.) Saturn is karma/lessons to be learnt/tradition & hard work. Don't know too much about it but it's basically given a hard rap and known for 'being crap' which isn't fair. It's about dealing with the consequences for your actions, good & bad (note the "dreaded" saturn returns). Like fogwolf I'm not too good with the outer ones, I get what they are but not overly good at how they relate to individual charts. Uranus & beyond are all generational goodness which I find even more interesting/hard to pin to individuals...(ie. I have little to no idea outside my own chart)

I know what areas the planets represent. It's the old signs I'm not all that familiar with.
And, I think adding the houses right now would complicate it too much. I'm trying to break it down.
I think people would know more about the effect planets would have on their own signs, which is why I made this.
Also, to be clear...
Sun - character Moon - emotions Mercury - thinking and communication Venus - love and affection Mars - energy and desire Jupiter - abundance Saturn - structure Uranus - individuality and change Neptune - dreams and intuition Pluto - depth, power, and transformation

yes, there is always more to it though.
It will have to be a completely seperate thread for each individual sign. Because each house is extremely important to find out.
1st house (which the ascendant always is) equals the identidy which is why we follow the ascendant traits.
2nd- is to do with possessions and stuff.
3rd- communication and learning (usually when they get older)
4th- home and family
5th- Children and love
6th- health and food
7th- relationships
8th- learning about sex, death and yourself. ect 9th- exploring more and religious side.
10th- job and home life
11th- friendship and knowledge
12th- empathy for others and your mind (also seemingly to do with drugs)
There is more to each house but remember that each signs fits a certain house. Also that each planet fits certain signs (maybe two signs) You got to think of it as combinations...
Like blue and red making purple...
So the sun which is your outer self which represents leo (so think of the things leo do and then see it as the sun... Remember Leos are meant to be show offs so these things are what you show off to the world) The sign that fits that could be... um a Tauras... so you show you are stubborn and hardworking blah blah blah... Remember they are to do with possessions and stuff... like the second house... but- whichever house it lands in... it focuses the traits of a Tauras in... That house could be... the 11th house... So they may be socially adapt to making friends and having a Tauras way they may collect strange things... like moon rocks... And to be on the social side, they may make friends with people who are strange and may treat them possessively... But remember it's only the sun sign so this person may be shoving this outlook to appear like that... but the other placements may show the hidden side of this particular person. Who knows what they secretely want...
The moon could be the 6th house with a sagittarius... so this person could feel all edgy about their health... and react violently because their moods are based on their health.
Those are things to think about razz

Lady Lachesis I know what areas the planets represent. It's the old signs I'm not all that familiar with. In general, or specifically relative to each given planet? There are a lot of astrology books (Parkers is a good one) that cover planet placings in different signs. It also covers planet placings by house. But knowing each planets domain and having an idea about the characteristics assocaited with each sign is, at least, a good place to start, because you can work out the basics without looking into any idiosyncrasies. Quote: And, I think adding the houses right now would complicate it too much. I'm trying to break it down. Well, yes - of course it will complicate it. You probably don't want to tackle them at the same time as you tackle planets by sign, but they're still very interesting and relevant to synastry as well, I imagine, as to natal astrology. Jessybelldove It will have to be a completely seperate thread for each individual sign. I really don't think that will be necessary...
