"What does Earth matter anymore? We've got a whole new Solar System."
The year was 2020. Mankind had made great leaps in science, medicine and technology, but at the cost of ravaging their own planet to the point where it became inhospitable, save for the tightly-packed cities dotting the barren landscapes where once there had been fertile plains and bright rivers flowing into an ocean.
In an effort to save their declining race, the worlds premier minds banded together and announced the Valkyrie Project which would gather the best of the best and send them out to explore far into the galaxy to start life on another planet.
They succeeded. For better or for worse.

The year was 2090. The humans found a new solar system for themselves, populated with alien kind, who they made friends with or eradicated, as humans do. Population exploded, and the planet Veratia, the first place populated by the humans, became one large city. Despite the many advances made in the field of medicine, humans still died from disease and old age. This spurred the scientists of the time into the exploration of the human body like never before- they created the Superhumans. However, things did not go as they planned, and the Superhumans who were kept hidden away from the world broke away and ran out into the sunlight to become true and real people.
While the experiments took place upon countless human children -for the procedures did not take to alien children- the human government, the D.A.R forged on, exploring and taking over races, among them the Cules who are oppressed and treated as second-class citizens to this day.
Still, despite the underhanded actions and deals conducted by the government, life goes on under the hot sun that the planets revolve around.
