Okay so. xx; Here's how it is. My dad decided to go to Best Buy after picking my brother and me up from school/class. And while we were there, he picked up a new router to replace our ancient one that we'd had since we got our original craptastic Windows ME computer...back in '99 or '98.
I'm not asking about how to update settings on the computer though. :/ I need to update the WiFi settings for my Pokemon Diamond and my PSP Browser. I can't ask mi padre now, however, because he left for bowling just a little while ago and mi hermano claims that there isn't any need for a WPA Key- even though the PSP won't connect without one.
I can't add the new settings to my Pokemon card either now because of said key sooo does anybody know how I figure out what it could be? I'd appreciate it! **;;;

To change the settings to something that nintendo axuley likes, its simple, well atleast when I had a roughter it was simple. Is it Lynkies? Or netgear. Eather one I know for a fact this is how you do it. If you read the instruction manual, there will be a defolt username and pasword for the roughter. Its probley the name of your roughter and "pasword" Now, Find your roughters IP adress. The defolt adress is probley in the book also, or you could find it by rightclicking on the little thing on your computer that tells you that you are conected to the internet, its under something but i can't rember what >.>;; Tipe that adress with the periods into an internet browser. It may or may not prompt you for a pasword, if it does type in the one you found before. Though verying from roughter to roughter, Somewhere on the page that it gives you will be the settings for the roughter and you can change the paswords and set it to WPA witch will mean changing the roughter pasword to a gumble of letters and numbers normaly. Once you do that, go into your games and set it up with the new name and password. In pokemon just go to the place where you trade pokemon around the world and try to conect, it will fail and ask if you want to configure your roughter, there may also be something on the startup screen, i forget...
Sorry if I make no sence >.>;;; Hope I help.

Uhm... I have NO experience with wifi and portable game consoles...
However, if there currently is no WPA (or encryption at all) on said router... BAD! VERY BAD! No encryption = no protection = neighbors and wardrivers screwing with your network...
So, do what Sin said, and put WPA on... and they key you use, you can use for your game consoles...
Now, if it's already on... then do what she said, 'cept when you get to the part where you would put in whatever key you wanted your wpa encryption to be, you want to instead copy whatever key is already there into your ds/psp...
