I just came up with an idea for a story...

Dryads were common on the continent of (some interesting name). Magic was also as common in every race at the time. Very few didn't know how to use it. There were many ways to learn magic such as training, it coming naturally or other strange ways. One way that had never been used before was going to be tested. This all was happening in Deep Forest far from any of the Kingdoms. The creators of this where exiled from their Kingdom of Magic for High Treason, or using fake magic (whether it would end up being fake or not isn't yet known). So in the lush forests of Wilderness (anywhere that wasn't owned by a kingdom) they created a cocoon like pod. If a person where to step in their, it would slowly influence its powers into the person's mind over five hundred years. Of coarse they person wouldn't die for being in their for too long. As long as the pod is alive and you are in it you could be immortal!

But what ability would be granted if you stayed in their for 500 years? The ability to see what is happening anywhere and everywhere in the world, and also plant elemental magic (the control of plants).

A dryad named Kinth ran away from her Elven kingdom after her tree (the one she was spirited to, watched over, stuck to) was chopped down while she was asleep. Kinth ran away in to the Deep Forest where maybe she could find a tree that wouldn't be chopped down. When doing this she ran into a few men. They tell her about the pod (in a much more descriptive way than I did... I just came up with the idea this morning) and she thinks that since she has no friends she might as well do it. (Dryads naturally can live to 800 years but that is just the average. A fit dryad could live for thousands instead of hundreds if they know what they are doing.) She goes into one of probably 50 pods. All the others are filled with parchments of history and literature and religion.

Kinth awakes after the 500 years and decides to return to the pod. If she was ever needed she would return and awaken. So after many millions of years she awakens for a reason unknown to her. She goes back to the other pods and reads all the notes. She reads that a fire star was going to hit the world! That was the last parchment put in. Kinth must've been safe in the pod. She then wanders into a world where there are new creatures she has never seen, dragons, unicorns, griffins, and others. As well as other races. She then finds out that she was summoned to save the world once more from the same fate that her's suffered. (Getting hit by an asteroid).

If you have any questions or comments please post. If you find things that might need to be tweaked or more or down sides please don't flame.

This is only the beginning of it with a very vague middle and no end. I am really busy this morning so I don't have time to think of one.

Thanks... Never too Young
