Long Distance Relationships;
ever been in one? For how long? How far away? What did you do to help it work? Did you end up moving? Did they end up moving? Anything else to add?

I was in one for three and a half years; he lived two hours drive from me (but neither of us could drive and we were both in high school and I worked weekends, so we had very little time to see each other). We wrote letters as well as emailing and talking on MSN. He moved down to my city; we broke up about six months later.
Now I'm in another one, we've been together just over three months, he lives in a completely different country (two plane trips and about $1200 away). I'm going to move over there sometime this year, hopefully. We use MSN/Skype and email, we SMS each other a few times a day, and he just came over here to meet my friends and family.

I'm strongly against them if they start out long-distance. I was in a relationship like that for 3 years of my life, and let's just say those are three years of my life I'm never going to get back sad
However, if the relationship starts in person, and circumstances call for a temporary long-distance arrangement, I believe (and hope! My bf is going to college a few hundred miles away this fall) things will work out.

True that last part. I'd never start a long distance relationship, even if I do love that person, but if that last one occurs it can be worked out.

I am in one now. When break rolls around, we don't see each other. We live about 2 hours away and he doesn't want to drive that far (I don't think his old car can take it). And since I don't drive (yet) I can't come and see him. So once I get my license, this issue will be resolved. ^_^

I've been in one for five-six years now. We met online, I'm from the US and he's from Stockholm. This year will be the first summer I don't fly out to visit him.
It was pretty easy at first, but I will admit that it's tougher now that I'm in Korea and, as a weigukin chick, men are just throwing themselves at me. confused But, I do love my boyfriend very much and have no intentions of leaving him.
