Edward drove me back to my house. On the way back we kept talking about how Charlie will react to the news about me and Edward. "I'm sure he's probably going to arrest me or something along those lines." Edward said as he looked out the windshield. "He might, or he might lock me in my room forever." "But you know that can't stop me. I'll just climb through your window." He said as he looked at me for a brief second before he turned to look out at the road again. "I know... " I replied.

We pulled into the brick driveway. He pulled the Volvo next to Charlie's crusier. Before I could open my door Edward was at the passenger door and opened it holding out his hand. "Here... " He said in his beautiful soothing voice. It took me a second to see what he was doing. I raised my hand and met his. He gently pulled me out of the Volvo and he shut the door behind me. "Are you really sure about this?" Edward asked in a worried tone. "Yes, I'm sure about this. If I can't tell him that I'm going to be damned for eternity, then I'm gonna tell him that we're getting married." I assured him.

We walked up the driveway up to the front door. I opened the door and hollered, "Dad?" "That you Bells? You home now?" Charlie called back. "Yeah, it's me. Where are you?" "I'm in the kitchen." We went into the kitchen and found him reading yesterday's paper. He lifted his head from the paper and looked at Edward with a look that could kill. "I'm sure you took good care of her today." Charlie said as he layed the paper on the counter and folded his arms against his chest. "I did, sir." Edward said in his smooth voice. Charlie then looked over at me and noticed that my hands were behind my back. "Are you hiding something from me Bella?" He said in a low tone. "Yeah, um Dad... there's something I need to tell you." He then hada confused look on his face. I lifted my left hand and held it out towards him. "Dad... " I closed my eyes trying to find the courage to tell him. "Edward and I are engaged!" Instead of just whispering it to him, I just blurted it out. I opened my eyes at an enraged Charlie. "I will NOT let you marry that boy! He left you Bella! You were finally letting Jacob into your life.... And then this idiot came back and now you can't stand to be away from him! You are better off marrying Jacob!" I felt tears escaping, running down my face and then my left hand fell limp at my side. Edward then held my hand and gently squeezed it.I don't like Jacob and I never had! I'm marrying Edward and you can't stop me!" I shouldn't have said that. Charlie went to his gun belt that was hanging off the wall and grabbed his gun out and made sure it was loaded. Edward squeezed my hand harder and I knew he didn't like this situation at all. "You can't marry him.... " He raised the gun, aiming it at Edward. "If he's dead... " I screamed and stepped infront of Edward as Charlie pulled the trigger and then everything went black.
