Today was going to be a great day for both Orynn and her duotoned hatchling. Sirius was finally going meet his grandson - not wanting to wait until Ascari was old enough to fly, Orynn had invited him over to their hollow - and the excited young mother always adored her father's occasional visits, even when there was no gossip for them to share. Though perhaps seen as grumpy by many Sentinels outside of the family, Sirius was an extremely dedicated father, and both of his children were known for thinking of him as their lifelong idol.

Papa's coming, Papa's coming... What an evening, what an evening...

Orynn shook her head and smirked sardonically at the two clownlike companions that chirruped away as they darted around her wicker-woven nest. While she was glad that Twyll seemed to be getting along with the younger - and far more musically adept - Chirrus, their harmonies still sounded more embarrassing than beautiful. Practice should one day make perfect, but "One day" certainly didn't have to be soon.

If Twyll insists on singing, then could you two at least wait outside for Papa's arrival?

Turning back to her quietly peeping bundle, and contented once again, Orynn nuzzled Ascari and cooed softly.

He responded by nibbling on his mother's earrings - his attention was focused solely on the golden crescent that was forever catching his eye.

Just wait until Papa sees how large and strong you are...

Oh my, oh my, oh my.

The old bundle of feathers better known as Sirius had gotten news of his grandson's arrival into these Woods. Oh how he loved his family and finding out he was a grandfather was like a dream to him. Despite that he had planned to use this day to track down a soothing herb, this was far more important!

Two children and a grandchild. His family was already expanded after not so long a period of time...Quickly, quickly, Sirius started his journey to his daughter's roost, his wings spread and off he went.

It was several hours before he even landed outside on a limb on his daughter's home tree. He was so excited he could barely contain himself. Happily, Sirius went down, limb to limb until he reached their home where he reached forward and hit the tree a few times with his beak as a way to let them know that he's arrived.

Papa! You're here!

Before either of the two hassled Pari even had the chance to call out Sirius' arrival, Orynn was on her feet and perched by the door, her alabaster feathers ruffled in sheer excitement. She nuzzled her beloved father warmly and welcomingly before ushering him towards the hollow's entrance, clacking her beak in motherly pride at what lay within.

Inside, Ascari was sitting atop the family nest, confused by all of the commotion, his tangerine eyes wide with interest.

I found him - his egg - out in the Deep Woods...

Like father like daughter, eh?

Sirius ruffled his feathers proudly as he gazed down at the ball of feathers on the nest. "So...this is him...I'm sure my grandchild has a proper name?" He chuckled as much as he could as he heard his daughter's comment about them being similar in finding their children, "Oh course~ Same place as well. Now if only Timber were here to see him. I'm fairly sure he is out doing something important now that he's full grown and flown the nest.."

He gazed down at his grandson with just proud golden eyes. "I give him by blessings now. Are you planning on raising him to be an apothecary like you and I?"

In her excitement, Orynn had forgotten all about the introductions - she was thankful that Sirius understood her occasional absent-mindedness.

Oh, of course - Ascari, for the black flecked markings on his egg. For him to follow in our wingbeats as an Apothecary... It would be ideal, most certainly, but it'll be his choice in the end. Really, it would not surprise me if he decided to work as a Scout like his uncle, or something similarly physical. He's such a big, strong boy, even at this early age. And he's very lively, very active -

The babbling mother was quite ironically interrupted at that point - out of the blue, Ascari had clamped onto his grandfather's dangling pendant.

...Very active indeed.

"Haha! Very active, I can see that! We shall have to get him one of his own pendants in the future. Ah...Ascari, a proper name for such a strong hatchling."

Most other Sentinels most likely would have felt old, really old at an occassion like this. Not Sirius, not at all, even though he 'was' going into his elderly years.

"I could see him becoming an Elite when he is older, they may recognize his potiental at one time or another. One can only hope, but I do hope he follows in our family's teachings and becomes an Apothecary."
