I brought gears 2 the day it came out
I also got the collecters edition, which for a snazzy art book, swish case and gears dvd, is deffo worth the extra fiver
I literally just completed the game, on hardcore
It was awesome...just a bit dissapointing in parts.
I'm a huge gears 1 fan, and i thought this woulds be even better. Guess you cant beat the original.
I mean, it's a great game still. I decided to make a list.
Good points-The graphics are fab.
-There are new weapons, new companions(some awesome new characters) and new enemies. You get to use turrets and mortars which kick a**. There's even a choice of pistol (although they're all pretty s**t)
-There's a deeper stoyline, and some definite shockers. There's even some geniunly sad bits. Parts of it make you really tense-you can really get into the game.
-Horde is a ingenius part of the game. It gives you something to aim for inbetween the actual campaign, and at the end if you've not completed it already.
-Each level is different, so you never get bored
-I wont spoil it, but you get to ride more than vehicles
wink -There are items to collect throughout the level which gives you an extra thing to look out for
-Aswell as instant gaming points, there's ones you work for by completing different aspects, which is nice getting extra rewards throughout
-It's epic as hell
However, as in all games there a a few kinks
Bad points-On one level in particular there a few glitches which got pretty annoying because we got stuck and thus kept dying
-The bosses are simply too easy. The last boss is an absoloute joke. No-where near the level of General Raam.
-The ending, other than the joke of a boss ended all of a sudden
-It all seemed so quick even though it's meant to be longer than the first
-This is just personal, but there's not enough waiting and shooting-everything seems to be a task (if you get what i mean)
-Also personal, you get split up from your co-op partner loads-why choose co-op if you're alone all the time?
I've not played online yet, but i'm sure it'll be similar to gears 1. Which i didn't like, but only cus everyone who played on there were twats. (sorry if you're on of them...some people are nice...)
But anyway...overall, in my opinion not as good as gears one, but still one of the best games i've ever played, and i should think it'll be as much of a legend as it's prequal.
Time for insane...
