Question: Does slide oil or slide cream work better?
I have both at the moment, just curious which I should start buying once I run out...

You know im not completly sure..i use slide cream..but i guess it all depends on how you play..Ex:lots of fast moving all over the place music or slow 1-2 different positions...

Depends on brand. I use a really good cream, Trombotine.
Cream lasts longer, though also needs water. I've never went to oil again.

I use Trombotine too. It works well. At the risk of being called neglectful, I won't say how long it's been since I greased it last, but it's lasted quite a while. In my opinion, slide cream is the best way to go. Just don't kill the water bottle. Also, keeping it in your pocket is not a good idea. I don't get oil though. It's messy, hard to deal with, and I always get a bunch of it on me. But hey, I'm a klutz. If you have both, why not experiment by using one for two weeks or so, then the other? Just an idea.

Hmmm... So, I think I'll use up the rest of my slide oil, then switch... One I can get a small water bottle, that is...
Mrs. BD also told me to wash all the oil off first... So I'll have to find the time to soak him(Tony= My trombone) and then use the oil...
Hmmmmm....

Um you're supposed to use slide oil for the front slide and slide cream for the back slide i think

Slide cream works the best, it lasts a really long time, but you gotta remember to clean your trombone every once in a while, or it will get disgustingly icky...ugh...

On my nice F Trigger Trombone, I only use Cream and Water.
On my first trombone, which only gets used for marching band and Pep Band... I use oil. Just because.
