It'd been a while since there had been a good, rainy day. Jan had walked to the mansion, intending on gardening, when the mist and fog began to roll in. Seeing as she was closer to the mansion than to home, she continue to walk and by the time she got to the property, was more than a little bit soaked.

Luckily she hung out at the mansion a lot, getting dirty, and kept spare clothing there. One hot shower later and the tall blonde was in the kitchen, making a pot of hot cocoa. She already set up her veg. station in the living room, a ton of old horror dvds stacked up on the coffee table along with a plate of cookies, some real popcorn, and fruit.

She was getting ready to settle in.

Tilting her grinning face towards the grey sky, Pell stuck out her tongue in a vain attempt to catch one of the raindrops that was now beginning to fall from the clouds. Rain was so fun! Standing in the rain was almost like taking a bath, except rain was much better because it involved squishy mud rather than shampoo that burnt her eyes.

Wotcher had brought the toddler to the mansion grounds to "unwind." And she had been doing just that, running around and acting generally silly, when it had started to rain. Now the raindrops were coming down ever harder and getting up from his position under a tree, the man beckoned Pell towards him. "C'mon, let's go inside the mansion. You can run in there." Hey, it wasn't his house.

Pell did as she was told, for once, and proceeded to walk besides her guardian to the large house in the distance. The rain was seeming less like fun now and more like an annoyance. It kept hitting her ears and making the petals bend! Stupid rain.

Soon, the two entered the mansion, throughly soaked. Wringing the bottom of his shirt in his hands, Wotcher looked down at Pell. "I'm going to go find some towels, okay? Stay right here," he said, before moving off down a hall, turning a corner and disappearing.

Of course, the red-headed Sin'aeis had already listened to Wotcher once today and that was enough. Walking the opposite way that her guardian had went, Pell paused after a moment. That smelled like popcorn! Mmm, popcorn! Following her nose, she then continued to walk.

The room with the popcorn was easy enough to find, after all. And there wasn't just popcorn, there was all sorts of good stuff! And it was all set up, just waiting for her! Digging her hand into the popcorn bowl and reaching for a cookie with the other hand, Pell set herself upon the couch, nevermind her wetness, and began to snack.

Jan heard the footsteps and peered out of the kitchen to spot a little flame-haired girl, munching her snacks. Grabbing a second mug, she poured cocoa into that as well and carried the two mugs into the living room, brows raised and a grin on her face.

"Ey there, see yer makin' yerself at home." Her eyes caught on the petals, and she sat next to the girl, handing her a mug and picking up the remote. She remembered the girl from when she was a kid. Not that it was important.

Taking the towel still around her neck, Jan gently swatted at the girl to get her to stand, so Jan could put the towel under her damp bottom. The blonde then simply hit play, causing "NIGHT OF THE LIVING DEAD" to start playing in it's bloody, cheesy glory.

"I s'pose ya wanna watch with me?"

If Pell had been any other little girl, she would've undoubtedly been terrified to see the definite owner of the food she had just stolen stride towards her. However, the Sin'aeis was not like other girls and her grin mirrored the tall lady's as she entered the room. Company was always good, and she had even brought drinks!

"Yep. Dis is sum good food," she said, taking another bite out of her cookie while peering upwards. The tall lady looked almost familiar, but Pell could never remember ever seeing her before! Maybe she had been in a movie or something?

Pell hopped off of the couch once the tall lady swatted the towel, shaking her wings with disgruntlement. "Coulda asked," she stated, before sitting back down again. Well, the tall lady did bring the drinks and the food, so maybe Pell could forgive her just this once. But next ti-

Her thoughts were interrupted once the movie started. Ooh, a movie! She leaned forward to stare at the TV. "Yeahyeah! Wut's it about? Does it have a princess? A unicorn? A dragon? Fairies? Does it, huh?"

Jan simply raised an eyebrow. Pell should've known better than to sit on the couch in the first place. "Nex' time, I s'pose." Turning up the volume of the television, she took a sip of cocoa.

"No un'corns er anythin' like tha'. S'zombie flick." Night of the Living Dead was about a pair of siblings that go to visit their mother's grave. On that particular day, a nearby scientific facility had accidentally begun reanimating the dead. The brother is killed leaving the sister to hide in a farmhouse with several other survivors, to try and live out the night.

Totally missing the tall lady's expression, Pell took a sip of her own cocoa. It was hot! She didn't have time to say anything, however, as the tall lady was turning up the TV volume cuing that it was movie time. Yaay! Carefully setting her cocoa upon the coffee table, Pell leaned back into the couch comfortably.

"Zombies? But ain't they scary," she asked tentatively as the movie started, looking sideways at the tall lady beside her. Couldn't they watch a movie about princess and unicorns and rainbows? They were always good! Especially if they had songs in them. Aw, well, maybe this movie wouldn't be too scary.

The movie turned out to be scary, yet oddly thrilling. A few of the scene made her scream and inadvertently scoot closer to the tall lady (that girl had been eating her father!), but overall she had liked the movie. To her pride, she had only closed her eyes once during the whole movie. If only it had a few songs about friendship, then it would have been even better!

The credits filing across the screen, Pell turned towards the tall lady. "Zombies ain't real, are they?"

Jan looked thoughtful, debating whether or not she should put in the next scary movie as she watched the younger girl. She seemed alright. At flamehead's question Jan paused, considering her answer. She'd seen a lot of weird things running around.

"I dun' righ'ly know, lil' miss. Y'see, there's lots o' strange things runnin' 'bout these parts. I dun' think any'll getcha, though." Jan leaned forward to pick up two dvds off of the table.

"Alrigh' now. Werewolves 'r Gian' lizard?" AKA GODZILLA.
PostPosted: Fri Mar 14, 2008 11:24 am

So, did that mean that zombies were real? Would they eat her? Would they eat Wotcher? Would they eat her pet fish? But even if they were real, the tall lady said they wouldn't get her, so she really shouldn't be worrying about whether or not they were going to her her, or Wotcher, or her fish. "Iffin I see any, I'll fight 'em! I have a sword, y'know?" She made her best scary face and waved her arm, as if brandishing a deadly sword. Of course, her sword was only a toy made out of wood. But it still hurt.

Hmm. Werewolves or giant lizard? Werewolves were creepy, they turned from a normal looking person into some kind of hairy thing! Which was just plain weird. "Giant lizard? I wanna see! Does it stomp around and go RAWR?" If so, then she was very good at being a giant lizard when it came to smashing blocks. Or other childrens' sand castles. But that had only happened once and she'd said she was sorry!

Jan grinned at Pell's antics, nodding. She was pretty sure that Pell could handle anything that came her way, whether it be zombies or sand castles. Showing the FLAMEhead the dvd case briefly, to demonstrate the lizards gigantic stomping abilities, she then stood and swapped discs.

"Sit tigh' 'n watch this'n, alrigh? I'm gonna git 'nutha drin'. Do y'wan anythin'?"
PostPosted: Tue Mar 18, 2008 3:25 pm

Blinking at the DVD case as the tall lady held it up, Pell gasped. Wow, that lizard really was giant! And fat. He could probably knock over a hundred sand castles if he wanted. Ooh, and zombies probably wouldn't even try to eat his brain! "How about dis giant lizard, is he real? There's prolly all sorts of monsters runnin' around, huh? Lots o' weird thangs, like you said." But she hadn't seen a monster yet. Or had she? What if they were in disguise, like spies? The tall lady could be a monster! Or even Wotcher could!

The toddler was going to ask the tall lady if she was indeed a monster, but decided against it (momentarily) when she left to leave the room. "Uuum, how 'bout some juice? Dun care what kind." She wanted something cold now that she had finished her cocoa.

Once the tall lady had left the room, Pell settled down to watch the giant lizard movie as it began to play. All by herself this time!

Jan returned to the living room with a two glasses of grape juice, handing one to the smaller girl as she proceeded to answer her question. "Hrmm... Well, I s'pose th'lizard coul' be real. But I fig'ure tha' effen he DID exist, we'd 'ave seen 'im by now."
PostPosted: Tue Mar 25, 2008 11:20 am

Taking the grape juice from the tall lady as she returned, Pell took a sip before replying. "Yeah, I guess. He wouldn't be too good at hidin', I guess, since he's so big. 'Less he's a real good hider? I 'unno, he might could hide in the mountains. Those're real big, too!"

She grew silent as the movie continued to play, watching the giant lizard as he destroyed the buildings and stepped on the people. Pell rather liked this movie better than the zombie one! The giant lizard wasn't nearly as scary. In fact, he looked kinda funny when you thought about it. Though she wasn't exactly sure she would think he was funny if she really saw him...

Soon the giant lizard movie was over as well. Turning from the TV to look at the tall lady, Pell yawned. She'd been here a while hadn't she? But it was fun! Hmm, Wotcher had told her to stay at....some place. This was a good some place. Wotcher would find her, right? Might as well stay here.

"D'you have any more movies? I like 'em!"

"Well, lessee..." Jan spread out the DVD stack again, not even curious as to where this girl's guardian may be. She'd grown up in the generation of sin'aeis with absentee parents that'd let them all run around by themselves once they were toddlers. "There's this'n. Vampires!"

Flashing the cover at the girl, she gave a brief overview of the creatures. "They suck yer blood 'n make ya enta vamps, too. Most canna come out durin' th' day, though, 'n all o' 'em canna come en yer 'ouse 'less ya envite 'em, first...."
PostPosted: Tue Mar 25, 2008 11:50 am

"Ooh," said Pell, looking at the DVD case. "I've heard of them! They bite yer neck and they can turn into bats and fly away!" They were almost scarier than zombies! Maybe even more! Well, if she was brave enough to watch the zombie movie and the giant lizard one, then she was definitely brave enough to watch the vampire one. Maybe soon she would be brave enough to watch those adult movies they had at the video store. They were so scary, only adults could watch them! That's what she thought, anyway.

Elsewhere, while Pell was bravely watching her vampire movie, Wotcher was finally getting un-lost. "Stupid mansion. How many hallways and rooms does one house need? I bet nobody even uses half of these things," he grumbled. He'd finally given up on his towel search after an hour or so. The rest of the time had been spent trying to find the door. And Pell.

Walking past an open-doored room that had a television playing in it, Wotcher almost continued down the hallway. If not for the toddler's bright hair catching his eye, he would have. Peeking into the room, he blinked as he saw his daughter-thing sitting on the couch with a teenager, watching a movie - was that a vampire?

Though he was sure this wasn't the place that he had left her, Wotcher figured that he would've gone to watch some movies if he was stuck in a place like this, too. So he couldn't blame her. "Pell, come on, it's time to go," he spoke from the doorway.

"But Wotcha, it's just gettin' to the good part," she said, refusing to even take her eyes off of the screen to look at him. However, after another beckon, she finally hopped off of the couch. "Thank you, Miss Lady. Yer food and yer movies are very good! We should do this 'gain," she said to the tall lady, before casting one last, final look at the TV and walking to Wotcher.

Taking her by the hand as she neared, Wotcher nodded a thanks to the teenager before leaving. He wanted to leave before he got lost again.

The blonde grinned as the bright-haired girl's guardian finally showed themselves. Poor guy looked pretty lost and flustered. Perhaps it was something in the very make-up of a sin that stopped them from getting lost in the mansion? Jan'd never had that problem.

After bidding the two goodbye, Jan kicked up her feet onto the coffee table and finished her movie.
