You can read a lot of books on the Internet. In some countries you can borrow books from a library on the net and read them on your computer and there are a few sites were you can read books for free. For example www.onemanga.com were you can read manga for free and most classics are out on the net. What do you think of reading on the computer?
It doesn't beat real books wink smile but I have begun to do it more often.
And anyone now of more places on the net were there are books out for free?

I get a headache if if read too much on the computer, but I have found the Baen Free Library (type that into any seach engine) has a nice set of older titles. Many of them are the first or second books in an author's series, which makes it a cheap way to see if you want to read anything else by that author. Being a site sponsored by Baen, it's fantasy and science fiction.

I read online all the time. I'm constantly on The Spectrum Nexus reading manga.

@ Olivia Falconer: Baen Free Library? I'll have to check this one out. Is it only books published by Baen (I'm guessing yes)?

Oh I do read sometimes online. But there was one story I had to print out.

Took 106 pages and that was just one story from the same author. The next story took 90 pages, and the librarian was pissed.

Not So Little: Mostly Baen, yes. I think they have a few from other publishers (with permission).

Sleeping Priestess: And that is why my library charges for printouts. We've saved several thousand dollars in operating costs that way.

Reading things on the internet doesn't really bother me, but i'd really rather read things in a book or something like that. But if it interests me a lot, then i'd read it.

I mostly read fanfiction and Fiction Press, but I also read E-books.

Reading too much on the computer gives me eye-strain, bad eye-strain. I did read The Picture of Dorian Grey on the internet though. Not as good as reading a real book if you ask me.

I've never actually done it, but I've seriously considered it. I just live too far from the library sometimes to get a classic I want to read. I think its a pretty good idea, but actually having a book to hold will never be completely replaced.

I also like that books need no power (except a little light), so they save energy!

I read online a lot lately. Still, like Loquacity said, you can never replace the ultimate portability and lovability of a solid book.

Reading on the computer? I don't mind where to read, as long as it's interesting, so I don't mind reading on the internet at all. And one manga.com is a place I do go to a lot to read manga.

Cool! Another source for online reading! Thanks, zenipuff.

I just hope, since there are graphics, the picture resolution isn't too bad.

wowio.com is a great site. You can get a lot of old classics there, and some newer stuff that the authors/artists get paid for, per download. I'd use it more, but if I spend too much time in front of a computer, my eyes shut down on me.

It's always hard for me to find suitable stuff to read on the internet, no matter how hard I search... so I don't do a lot of reading on it. Normally, I can find manga, but that's about it.
