The fog rose off of the water as the air seemed too still. A shadowed figured approached the railing of the bridge. Quietly the walls replied the footsteps of cloaked gentleman. The approaching fiend removed his hood allowing the light to glisten on his ever dark eyes. "You came." The shadowed figured removed her hood to reveal a wave of raven hair and a set of twinkling green eyes. "You thought I would not?" The gentleman stepped next to her. "No. I tried to predict you yet again." A quiet laughter rose from the lady's throat. "Would you predict a temptress's dance or what lies in a witch's brew?" "Ah, I see now, my dear, that you are a witch's brew and a temptress of sorts." "No, sire, only a black widow who dares to return to the heated desire that once lie in ruin waiting for a simple kiss and upon receiving that blessed kiss did threaten the bestower with curtly death if no dark deed be done. Well, sire, the dark deed is complete, and he is dead." The man stumbled backwards at her words. "Dear lady, you did what any assassin would not dare." His eyes grew suspicious. "But have you kept your honor in this deed?" She reached for what seemed a decorative comb, but pulled out a bloodied knife. "What honor is there in killing another man? See here is the tool still covered in his dry blood." He took and examined the weapon, but quickly returned it to its dreadful owner. "Had he not guards and henchmen of his own??" She laugh heartily. "What guard or man can stand against a woman who's heart is set upon dark deeds?" His eyes darkened. "Had he nothing to say upon his death? Tell me all." She looked down at the knife and then into her master's eyes. "Yes, he had but one somber request as he died." "Tell me, love, so that my heart can rejoice in his suffering." She stepped toward him and embraced him. "He requested that you die with him." She plunged the knife into the young man's back. "Love, who am I to deny a dying man's last request." He stumbled backwards and tumbled off the bridge. "Call no one "love", if you do not mean it, dear." The gentlemen's henchman came out from the shadows. "Your master is dead, and you are finally free." The henchman picked up the well-dressed lady. "As are you my, dearest love and starlight." He kissed her deeply. As they walked away from the bridge, hand in hand, the raven haired lover tasted the sweetest word. "Free. I am free."

That is an awesome story!!! Short stories are my favorite because they're compact action and don't take a lot of patience, and you did a great job with that 3nodding

That's the best assasin story I've seen in a long time. Nice how it isn't about how cool it is to kill people!
