This thread came to me partly out of my own curiosity and partly due to me being inspired by Baulder's candor of posing the question of what Earth-bound Marvel character can beat The Hulk.
However, this question I'm posing is at least as equally perplexing even when given less restrictions.
The Celestials are amongst the most powerful entities within the Marvel Universe. Only a select few can indisputably defeat one or the whole lot of them. The Living Tribunal and the Abstracts; Death, Eternity, Infinity, Oblivion, and Galactus(?).
That said out of boredom and curiosity, I've decided to put the question here to see what the people of this guild have to offer.
Not only that, I've decided to stack the deck a bit against the Celestials just to see what possible answers other popular known fiction titles amongst anime, manga, and other comic publishing companies have to offer.
So let's hear it from you people.Who Can Fight the Celestials and Win?Celestial Write- Up Here: http://www.gaiaonline.com/guilds/viewtopic.php?t=11978003

Wow, my thread was referenced. I feel honored. Well, after carefully thinking about the strength of these 'Celestials', I'm going to bring my fighter in from an anime. Karas Karas is the spiritual manifestation of a City's will, created to keep the balance between the Spirits of a city, and the humans. He is created when a little girl known as Yurine, makes a pact with a human being. However while he is in his Karas form, the human being is in a comatose state, his one greatest weakness probably being that his human body is completely defenseless and if anything were to happen to it, Karas would disappear. The armor he wears is quite simialar to the Celestials in the manner in which it is merely a catalyst of spiritual energy. However, he is not limited to this form. A small 'portal' like thing opens opens where he temporily phases through the spiritual realm and then exits the portal as something else. Though he has only been seen using the ability to become a Jet to fight in the sky or a car to chase someone down so it is not known if there are any other forms he can take. Weapons, Karas wields a katana chained to his back. In the anime, there hasn't been anything this sword hasn't been able to tear through nay immidietly, save for the blade of an opposing Karas. He can throw the Katana in the air, causing the blade to spin like a boomerang and fly through the air cutting through everything in it's path, then catch the said katana at the end of its path. After he killed his friend Nue, whom is the Demon Manifestation of Lightning, Nue possesed Karas's sword, imbueing the blade with the power of lightning. Karas then used this power by plunging his blade into a building the size of a sky-scraper. The Electricity expanded through his blade into the building and quite literally disintegrated the entire building and everything that was connected to it. It is not known, however, if this was a one time thing, or if his blade is permanently imbued with this power now, for he only gains it, and only uses it, in the last episode. When the hilt of the Katana is struck, the blade expands and gives Karas explosive amounts of power in which black wings protrude from his back and his eyes turn red. While using this power he was able to cut through even his opposing Karas's blade. Karas is also able to apparently create a wide range of weapons from pieces of his armor, as seen in one scene when he is falling off of a building and then a piece of his chest plate shoots off and attaches it to the building as a chain to pull him back on. Strength, when he and the opposing Karas known as Ekkou clashed swords in mid-air, the collision was powerful enough to create an explosion large enough to destroy the entire heart of the city and blow both combatants away. Speed-wise, he seems to be on a compeltely different plain of speed than any other creature, even other spirits. He moves at such a high speed that time practically freezes. The only other being seemingly capable of keeping up was the opposing Karas Ekkou.

Admittedly, I lack the skill to describe something for all that it is, and Karas is so much more, so for a better definition of Karas's strength, I was able to find one episode that properly sums up his abilities when he is at his peak. Karas

I'm not thinking so.
When I have the time I will properly reassess via the link to the video but from what it sounds like the extent of Karas' power is and based within the range of this particular city itself.
Celestials have planet destroying capabilities without question and can do so easily. Not only that but they can screw with reality evidently easily since they have been shown able to wipe the entire knowledge of their existences save for the races of Earth's gods and a few individual's minds.
Also, a Celestial's armor can easily withstand forces that can destroy a planet. No one popular individual within all or Marvel Comics and probably DC Comics has been shown to possess the ability to completely decimate a Celestial's armor.
Even Thor only managed to crack the armor of one with almost apocalyptic repercussions if it hadn't been for Gaea.
You're gonna have to think a bit more on a bigger scale to find a plausible solution.

Hmm, this is tough. Karas is strong, but I don't know if his sword would be able to pierce armor that can withstand apocalyptic attacks. But yeah, it is true that his power is limited to his city.
Hmm, my comic book knowledge isn't that great, and as far as I know, all anime writers have an unsaid oath to never tread their characters into the 'god-like' territory of power, so that being said, there are no anime characters out there that could match a Celestials power.

My personal comic book knowledge isn't all that great either. But I have a rough idea of what Marvel characters can definitely do it and which ones can't which is a good chunk of them from widely known to virtually not known by those outside the realm of geekdom.
It also gives you a rough idea of which DC characters to rule out which again is a majority of them including Superman.
As for anime characters, one could safely assume it's the same story. But what makes this interesting is that anime itself is a genre not a company like Marvel or DC Comics. Therefore, it encompasses MANY franchises and regardless of how many series one has watched or how many volumes of Japanese manga you've read, no one individual has read them all.
That said, because not all of anime and manga's characters are under one universe you have to search for the information on these characters by other means if not by reading or watching the material then through what others know about them.
To bring this full circle, I myself may not know of any characters that can take a Celestial down without a doubt or has the indefinite potential to do so but you or the next person may have an idea or two.

Still, with all my knowledge of anime or manga, Karas is quite possibly the only being to my knowledge that could stand a fighting chance to these Celestials. If they didn't decide to just wipe the planet from outterspace that is. But within the city, I don't think theres anyone that can beat Karas.

Wait a minute! Ofcourse! *slaps forehead* Darkside! I can't believe I forgot about this guy. Luckily a little strolling through the previous threads brought him back to memory. I tried searching for an adequate picture or internet resource, but it's a really old anime, and was not all that popular either, so I couldn't find anything.
But basically, Darkside is one of the main chairacters in the anime Dark Side Blues. He seems to have the ability to distort reality itself as seen when a modified human fires these energy balls at him, and they fly straight through him, he then replies by saying, "Are you ready for awakening?" Then everything goes blurry and when things clear up, the modified human is gone, not a single remnant of him remaining.
Power on the other hand, I don't think he has too much of. He hasn't demonstrated anything such as 'Blowing up a planet.' In fact, most of the time in the anime, he just stands there calmly and then when someone taunts him, he says the line, and they disappear.

Hmm, with no real reference of Dark Side, I can't really say more about him than that, and my memory of him is blurry since it's been so long.
After further thought, this person finally came to my mind, but he's from a book, so I don't know if he would be allowed, but I'll say it anyway. Anyone here ever heard of the Ellemist?

Being able to simply warp reality isn't enough. The Scarlet Witch doesn't even stand a chance of beating a Celestial.
Go figure why but the only reality manipulator (at least in the MU) that has been said to have the potential the defeat a Celestial and maybe the whole lot of them is Franklin Richards likely when fully conscientious of his abilities.
I had retracted this statement in my previous post but I had originally claimed that Inoue Orihime from Bleach MAY be able to do it BUT so far she has only showed the potential restore people and/or objects by undoing the damage done to them via time manipulation phenomena. Though she does have an offensive attack in the form of Tsubaki (Koten Zanshun), her general dislike of combat, hesitance, and lack of killing intent makes this ability questionable. Koten Zanshun may have the ability to cut through anything if it's FULL potential reflects Orihime's defensive capabilites.
So...Who knows??
The other posed solution I suggested was Lina Inverse using her Giga Slave which has the potential to destroy the entire world is misshapenly cast.
Unlike most if not all planted buster attacks in anime/manga/comics this spell has the potential to return the world to nothingness or back to chaos. That is it returns the world to the Sea of Chaos a.k.a. the Lord of Nightmares itself who is pretty much safe to say is the Slayers Universe's equivalent of an Abstract being in the Marvel Universe.
The Lord of Nightmares created the Slayers Universe(s) itself and the Giga Slave is said to be a physical manifestation of the LoN herself.
I've seen all three Slayers television series and the Premium motion picture but that was a while ago. I plan on re-watching everything that is Slayers after I'm done with everything on my current agenda that's new and/or desired to be seen to confirm this claim.
But if nothing else I'm sure the LoN from Slayers could do it since she's on the scale of the Marvel Abstracts.

Well, the Beyonder has pwned Celestials before. We do not know if the Beyonder actually killed the Celestials he fought, because it is suspected that Celestials are beings of pure energy from another dimension and their constructed physical forms are what keep them in our dimension. So if you destroy their physical body here, they might just return back to their own dimension/universe.
I also don't see Kara destroying a Celestial. So what if Kara can stab him in the foot? Which he can't pierce a Celestial, I'm sure. But if he could stab one in the foot, the Celestial can just blast him and his planet away into nothingness.

Actually the only reason the Beyonder was victorious was because the Celestials permitted it. This also turned out to be a double-edge sword as it led to the Beyonder being rejected by Meltdown.
I think it is official that the Celestials are beings made of pure energy but it's not impossible to kill one. They have slain one of their own before for breach of conduct during the Third Host and the Living Tribunal has killed one before himself.

No one mentioning Dark from b*****d and his infamous rediculous cheapness. Ripping through demsions ith sheer power and whanot.
Tenchi of Tenchi Muyo is apparently Godly powerful in the later OVA, but I have't actualy seen them, though. The lighthawlk wings would make a nice paralle for the Cestrials armour, as, if I've heard correctly, later on in the series they can shirk of planet busters like nothing.
Oh, and Mokona the creationist bunny God of Magic Knight Rayearth is pretty much on par with the LoN from slayers. Ability to creat anything, ability to distroy anything, reality manipularion, unlimited power, and all that other great God stuff.
