I have wondered for a long time now if anyone thought somehow Axel could be brought back to life along with the other nobodies?
I know it seems sill but it has bugged me for the longest time, I just don't think they could permanently destroy people in a children's game for some reason.
Or maybe I am holding out hope that the Akuroku love story isn't that tragic.

Well, if you think about it, Axel did fade two other times before the one in the betwix and between.
1.) He faded when Sora beat him in CoM
2.) He faded when Roxas beat him in the TWTN basement
And both times he made it seem like he was dead. So, knowing Axel's character, he could try and beat death one more time.

I vaguely recall him saying something along the lines of he wasn't dying.
I remember he said "I digress".
I could see it happening. Or, maybe he really isn't dead at all. Maybe he is just in another world.
The one thing you gotta think about though, is even if he does come back, we have the problem of:
Roxas is inside Sora.
Though, I did read a fanfiction where all of these questions were answered.
