Anthony grabbed a drink from his Canteen, and then radioed the Commander. "Sir, Able/Baker Company is here and accounted for. Awaiting orders."

It was a maze. Purple tubular tunnels stretching on forever. Gorgeous! Symbols flashed everywhere. New things to read and new things to figure out. His gloves hands swarmed over the controls. Eyes watching gas reviews and readouts flashed out before his eye. Click, click. Slowly the ships schematics came into view. Amazing. Copy, copy. This is what Winter did. Sarah murmured whispering amazements. New discoveries. When fire wasn't raining upon you and you were excepted on board such things became easier. There was actual time for exploration.

His adventure went on without notice. His quick hands hiding himself from the system's tracking. AI's that floated in the ship would think him as some alien moving through checking the usual things. Who would suspect a human to know these things? Hopefully nobody..

[Sgt. James A. Mitchell]

James sighed and leaned back aganist the bulkhead of the pelican he was seated in. He felt terrible, he hadn't gotten sleep in about four days and he was feeling the effects. Mitchell eased his eyes shut and thought about his life. He knew that he probably wouldn't survive the battle, but he would take as many as he could down with him. One of the members of Fireteam Delta, LCpl. John Monroe, nudged him. James opened his eyes and saw that Monroe had his hand held out. He grasped his hand and shock it firmly. There were no words spoken, the gesture said enough. James stood and walked over to the last memeber of Fireteam Delta, PFC Scott Bishop, and shock the man's hand. James sat back down and closed his eyes.

The Ship Master nodded.
"Return to your men. When there is information to know you will be informed. May the Gods watch over you and your kind Commander."

Lipton hadn't wandered far from the humans and their equipment. To be on an enemy ship like this felt... wrong. He knew the Elites were their allies, but he had killed enough of them to know that they had once been deeply committed to destroying all of humanity. Of course, he wasn't about to turn away the help. Mankind didn't exactly have very much firepower left. If the Covenant had wanted to, they could have glassed the entire planet, ending the human race forever. But for some reason they didn't. He had a sneaking suspicion that the reason for their strange behavior lay within that glowing blue sphere in the sky. It was time to end this. Once and for all.

Anso turned to face the holographic screens. Images of the surrounding terrain were displayed as well as a large holographic image of the planet. The last of the plasma bombardments had been finished and it was time to continue their fight. He felt a slight change in gravity as the CCS class cruiser banked into the pulsating sphere. The Ship Master did not speak with him, for he knew his task.

The holo-screens went blank the moment they entered the sphere, all contact with the outside world and regular space was lost. They were in slipspace or what seemed like it. And yet they were only within the portal for a few moments before emerging before a giant structure floating in an unknown region of space. No one knew where they were.

The voice of R'tas Vadum, their Fleet Master and one of the leaders of the Sangheili, the other being the Arbiter, filled the Bridge. Images of the Brute fleet filled the holoscreens.

"All Cruisers, fire at will! Burn their mongrel hides!"

The Ship Master glanced at Anso and nodded. Anso turned and left the Bridge. He opened his unit's Battlenet and delivered his orders.

"Warriors, arm yourselves and prepare for battle. We have chased the Mongrel Truth to this Ark, we shall make it his tomb. Meet me in the Drop Pod Chamber."

Lipton could tell what was going on even before the Elite ship decelerated. Elites were hurrying to their positions. He accessed the 105th COM-freq and spoke clearly.

"Helljumpers, listen up! This is Major Lipton. Tactical command for this operation has been given to Commander Hammer of the 301st Marines. I know you're all sore about being led by regulars, just do your jobs and make it home. This is our last stand. Your decisions will make the difference in determining whether or not humanity survives as a species. I know you've heard this pep talk before, but this is as true and as real as it will ever get. We face extinction. But we will not go silently into the night. We will not be annihilated by an alien foe. We will prove our right to survive! We will go kicking and screaming, Feet first into hell! Ooh-Rah?"

There was a pause as the remaining members of the 105th ODST division from Fox Hole 2 activated their Coms. An almost deafening "OOH-RAH!" filled his ear piece. He smiled before he continued.

"Prepare for combat Marines. Let's see if these Elites won't let us use a few HEVs and show them how it's done?"

He smiled and killed the 105th COM freq. He accessed the unit COM-freq and sent a message to CMDR Hammer.

"It's your show now Mike. Godspeed."
