I do not know how many of you in the guild play video games or anything.
But. Grinny has to rant.
Awhile ago, I got a game called Radiata Stories. The guy at EB Games recommended it to me, and of course, I bought it, because they are God.
But I really had no time for it, because I was replaying Tales of Symphonia, and I had just started playing Silent Hill 3. (I finally got it. =_=)
But last night, out of complete boredom, I decided to play it.
IT. IS. SO. IRRITATING.
First rant about this game:
The ******** buttons.
On a classic PS2 RPG, you press the X Button to talk to people and do actions, right?
Well. In this game, the X button kicks things. That's right. Kicks them. You have to kick things to find items, and sometimes I accidently kick people. Now, when you do this, they go out of their way to beat the crap out of you, or sometimes guards will come and do it.
And half the time I get my a** ******** handed to me. D< It. Is. So. Irritating.
In this game, the O button does the opening of doors, talking to people, etc. Just... eh, I don't know. It gets on my nerves. Especially when I get pwned right in the middle of the street.
Second thing: THE BATTLING.
Oh. My. God.
Where do I begin.
I'm going to start off with the leveling.
It feels like you have to wait until the cows come home before you gain a level. At first, it feels normal, but once you hit level five, it feels as if you're waiting... Waiting... Waiting... For a level to go up. And nothing gets in my nerves more when it feels as if I'm not getting stronger in a video game.
But, now into the acutal battling.
Radiata Stories is definetly not your kind of game if you don't like button mashing. And, again, you don't press X to attack like normal. Instead, you press O, and X is to block.
Honestly, were they trying to add challenge or something? D:
But. Moving on.
The targetting system is just... Absolutely horrible.
It randomly moves from one enemy to another.
So you go to attack one enemy, another enemy comes a little too close, the target moves over to that, and then when you attack it a few times, the targetting moves over to an enemy across the screen.
Um. Wtf, sherlock?
And the quests I'm doing are impossible.
Like, in real life, a human should be able to pwn a rat no problem.
Here they're like... the pwners of the world, yo.
So much for clearing a cafeteria of vermin.
And I can't beat this stupid saber toothed tiger for the life of me...
X_X
Don't get me wrong. I love this game. It's funny, cute, the characters are unique, the story is intriging, and the graphics are really good.
But. I'm annoyed and fustrated with it.
But. I have to beat it.
And I bet you all I won't have any sense of satisfaction when I finally do beat it.
*huff* D<
So.
Ever been in my shoes?
Ever played Radiata Stories before? Beat it?
Every got fustrated with something, but you just HAD TO BEAT IT?
Most flawless game you've ever played? coughtalesoftheabysscough
Anything related?
