1. You must have read all the Harry Potter books. Watching the movies does not cut it. The books have much more information.

2. No one knows Adult Spells. That means No killing other members, No controlling spells of any kind, No answering for other students, and anything else that is unpractical.

3. You may only have ONE character. Unless approved by the Captain.

4. No advanced magic is allowed.(unless you are a teacher) If you are a first year, your abilities are limited - you just are not going to be able to take on a fifth year, or a teacher.

I want my character to be a American. Is that possible?
I'm sorry, but only British students attend Hogwarts.

I want to be an Animagus. Can I be?
No, normal Hogwarts students can be a animagi. Yes Harry's father and friends were, but you are not role playing them now, are you?

Will I get into the house I requested?
We try to put all students in the house of there choice, but sometimes one house gets too full, so until the other houses catch up, you may be put into another house.

So, if a space opens up after I've been sorted, can I move then?
Nope. Once you are sorted, you are sorted.


Is it possible to get expelled?
Yes it is. But if you are being that bad you get banned as well. Being rude, or simply inactive will result in both.

Can I have special items (like an invisibility cloak)
No, too hard to keep up with. Unless if you've got permission, sometimes we do make an exception. I djust don't want the whole school to be full of unpermitted items.

What types of pets can I have? The official Hogwarts letters specifies one pet per student: an owl, cat, rat, or a toad. Students fifth year and above may choose to bring a Pygmy Puff in place of an owl, cat, or rat. Don't go beyond that, please.

Why have so many teachers?
One teacher for each class.

Do I have to attend classes and RP in them all?
Attendance in classes are not required.

I have to do homework?
No, no one has to DO homework, and no one can punish you for not doing their homework. You'll just not earn your house points, probably.

How are we graded?

O- Outstanding
E- Exceeds Expectations
A- Acceptable
P- Poor
D- Dreadful
T- Troll

Are classes ever closed?
Classes will close for special Holidays.

How long do classes last?
Each class session lasts around 1 to 2 weeks in real time. Or depending how active the class is.

Are our posts deleted?
Yes, if you double post, or break any rules, or post in the wrong place.

Can I make a banner for the guild?
Sure you can, we love to see our members help out!

Can I put a banner in my sig, shop, profile?
Yes you can put a banner anywhere you think people will see it. The more banners we have up around Gaia the better.

I made a banner, but how do I code it? Use this code, but edit the part that says malformed url.


Can I make my avatar look like my character?
Sure. That would be awsome.
