Guitar Hero: Aerosmith on Wikipedia

Okay so I'm a huge Aerosmith fan, have been for years. I squealed with delight when I first heard about the Aerosmith songs being released in GH. Now today I hear about this new GH game that is based on their career. It's not the first time they've starred in a video game. I still have my copy of Revolution X somewhere.

I'm honestly now sure how I feel about this. Of course I'll buy the game and I'll play it like the hardcore fan that I am but I'm feeling kinda uneasy about a GH game focusing on just one band. Honestly, does activision think that this game will sell the millions on millions of copies like GH3? It'll mostly be the pride and joy of us Aerosmith fans and be picked up by the true GH players but not to a mainstream of video gamers.

What do the rest of you think? Who knows, maybe it'll be a great addition to the GH kingdom and maybe we'll see more games starring other bands, GH: Metallica maybe or how about Guitar Hero: Guns N Roses?

I'm a die-hard GH fan, but I think focusing the game around one band just ruins the whole concept of guitar hero.

The first, second, AND third games included no repeated bands (if DLC is not included) and I think it should stay this way, but whatever. I don't think it's going to sell the way the second two games did. Many of the people who consider themselves fans of GH have barely ever played GHI. It's quite sad, actually.

I might pick it up just because ever since playing GH1, ive been said enough to get each game on its release day. The whole idea of one band for the entire game could kill the idea, but could still be cool. I know hardcore aerosmith fans will buy this so I guess it couldnt be a total loss. I'll just be waiting for "Guitar Hero: Guns N' Roses", or "Guitar Hero: AC/DC" xd

There's supposed to be a Guitar Hero: U2, also.

Yes, Dream On is fun, but isn't hard.

Most of the DLC songs aren't too hard.

In my opinion, focusing on one band alone is not a good idea for Activision. They will not make the money that they think they will. I believe that true music fans will buy this game, not the people who just buy all the popular games. This game won't turn out to be nearly as big as any of the other Guitar Hero's, I can ensure that. 3nodding

I know that I will pick it up, because I am not only a big fan of Guitar Hero, but I am also a big fan of Aerosmith. So it will definitely work out for those people who are fans of Aerosmith, and the true Guitar Hero freaks out there.

Track listing
The official track list has yet to be released; however, the release of "Dream On" as a free download on the Xbox Live Marketplace and the PlayStation Store suggests that it will be included. Guitarist Joe Perry has stated that the game will include "30 or 40" songs."The game will also include tracks from bands that Aerosmith has either played with or that have been a source of inspiration to their music.

No one really likes the one band thing but I order to consider yourself a GH fan you have to get it and thats what redoctane is hoping you do.

I personally think that Guitar Hero: Aerosmith will sell a lot of copies, but I think that it will eventually get boring after every song by just one band. I mean come on, who wants to act like they are in a "Cover Up Band" when they are only copying one band??

I think this game will be epic.
Though the only real reason I'm getting this game is because I'm bored of GH3 (I have a PS2) so I need new songs to play. And I was really hoping for there to be EVERY song by AeroSmith. And no DLCs. But apparently Activision hates PS2 users.
I've <3ed Aerosmith since I first heard them on the Radio. When I heard about this I almost fan boy screamed in the middle of the Mall xD. But because I'm sorta poor right now I can't afford a 360 or PS3 (though I will be getting one soon).
Basically, I'm starting to think that Activison is becoming less user-friendly by each game they release. Maybe the 360 or PS3 users haven't noticed but the PS2 users (the smart ones) have. And not releasing every song by Aerosmith could have been a smart idea, In fact, it is. But releasing DLCs for that game just pisses me off.
