"Ahh." was Evzen's response as he let the door swing close. "You should really ask for one; it can't be good to sleep anywhere."
His shared room was only two doorways from the exit, so it took little time to make it there. He paused, fidgeted with the door knob again, and the door swung open.
His half-brother, luckily, wasn't much of a slob, and the room was relatively neat. The colors amongst the room weren't too bright, yet they weren't overly pale, either. He walked to one of two single beds, and placed his precious cargo gently on top of the comforter. Content that she was safe for the moment, he turned back to the cat.

"As a matter of fact, I do." With a free hand, he gestured to a tall bookshelf parrallel with his bed against one of the walls. It stretched from one of other walls all the way to the one across from it, and was full of books of varying shapes and sizes. His owner had gotten the large bookshelf for his 'coming-of-age' present, and he had never been more gracious.

Evzen walked over to it and ran his fingers along one of the shelfs adoringly.
"I mostly read mysteries and fantasy, although I'll usually read anything that is suggested to me." He smiled, while failing to mention his love for romance novels, and was conveniently standing in front of the area where the bulk of them were shelved.

Alek looked excited, wanting very dearly to explore the contents of that bookcase. So many books.... his mind was bent by the sheer number of them, and the titles... He could see them from where he stood! The whole series of Chronicles of Narnia?! That lucky duck! And the murder mysteries he spotted filled him with a longing fort thier pages so deep that he had to restrain himself from going over and simply plopping down with one.

He tried to remain callous, but there was no denying the glitter that came into his mismatched eyes when he thought of the book smell. He LOVED the way books smelled.

Before he could stop himself, he had traversed up to the older wayward, and sniffed him. "You smell like books too...." He breathed out softly to himself, before realizing just what he'd done and recoiled a slight.

Evzen chuckled heartily, and ruffled the cat's hair playfully.

"I smell like books because I'm around them for hours everyday. I'm glad to see that I've met another bookworm." He smiled, knowing the look the had displayed itself on the younger one. He had been put into a good mood by finding this out about the other, and gestured to the bookshelf with a sweeping motion of his arm. "You're free to borrow any of them if you'd like." He allowed, grinning.

His eyes glittered, and he looked severely tempted, but paused at the last minute. "What do I owe you? I mean... surely you're not going to just let me read your books without asking for any kind of compensation, are you? Is this a strategy to get me in bed with you?" He queried, on the defensive for no other reason but that he was edgy. And now that Eri was asleep, he needn't pretend for her sake.

"I will, if that's what it takes, but I'd rather not... I 'left that behind me' when I came here, according to the staff... but... " He almost seemed to break down alittle at this, trying his very hardest to regain his composure and failing. He was overwhelmed... why was everyone so nice to him? He was a horrible person.. even for thinking that that was what the kind stranger wanted... but that was all anyone on the streets ever seemed to want from him.

He missed his old life; the freedom he'd had.. but did he really want to go back to it? Was this really something he should even worry about? His carefully put upon mask was peeling... and he was in no state to stop it.

He reaced without thinking, running for the door and bolting, choosing to run from his problems... but that was what had gotten him into trouble in the first place...

He only reached about the end of the hall before he simply slid to the floor and cried, as he hadn't allowed himself to do in so long. He had to be strong.. strong for Eri, because she wasn't. But in his secret heart of hearts, he was not strong... he put on a nice front, but he was a roiling pit of emotions inside.

Had the cat thought that he had wanted sex in return for books? He stared at the open doorway, mouth agape. That was just so...unbelievable. A child shoudn't...think like that. He glanced to Erianthe, who was snoozing softly. She had never given any indication that she thought like that. She simply thanked him more than was needed.
But her brother, he was a different story; a story that was so twisted that Evzen felt the need to find out what had happened, simply to piece the parts together.
From his room, he could hear the kitten cry. Sighing, he moved to the free bed and pulled the comforter off of it, before he placed it over her slightly-shivering frame. Content that she would be warm, he walked calmly out of the room, and shut the door behind him. With precise steps, so that he did not hide his approach, yet didn't broadcast it as well, Evzen made his way to the bi-colored boy, smirking while his eyes gleamed with curiosity.
At the end of the hall, it was a pitiful sight, but, for once, Evzen kept his mouth shut. He felt no need to comfort him, yet he couldn't make himself leave. If the kitten wanted to talk, he would listen.

He must have quite the story to tell.

The little half and half feline seemed to be tearing himself apart inside, riddled with indecision. Should he go back to the older male, or should he keep on running? He was in the midst of debating when he turned around to face the very person he wasn't sure if he should be avoiding or not.

His look of shame, and hopelessness would have struck any other person down, and pulled them with him deeper into tears, but not the fox apparently. He seemed unphased.

None-the-less, the small kitten seemed to recoil a slight, hugging himself as though the other meant to grab him or something.

"I-I just wanted to be there for Eri.... it was a way to make money.... so we could eat.... But it got out of control.... I-I en-enjoyed it...." He appeared to withdraw even deeper into himself, and continued, voice shaking. "I - Eri doesn't know. I don't think. I don't want her to know. She should never have to find that out about me...." He trailed off, not really seeming to notice that the other male was there anymore. He was too deep in his own sorrows by then to notice him.
