Name: Breeze Nicknames: Bree Species: Sentinel of Noctua Age: Adult (close to middle age) Hatch Date: 3/9 Type: Ghost Task: Teacher (former Ranger) Personality: With other adults, Bree is polite and reserved but also witty. She is aware that she can be quite judgmental and tries her best to avoid saying unnecessary things. To fledglings, Bree is rigid, methodic and sometimes harsh. She takes her lessons with a military stance strictly following her course plan. (Flying > Hunting > Will and Jobs - with basic courtesy and companion care/education during breaks). She values strength (of body and character) and tends to be very partial when showing her approval, silently judging the fledglings by their future profession. She considers herself a fair teacher (her students might disagree sometimes), takes pride in what she does and, despite her rougher side, she has been known to become quite sad when she decides “her” fledglings are ready to be released into the real world. History: Coming from a long line of bards and artisans, she spent most of her life feeling inadequate, something that hardened her temper immensely. With absolutely no talent for acting, singing and or any kind of creative occupations, she couldn’t help but feel left out at every family gathering - even if her parents tried their best to encourage her. Having skurris for companions is the only family tradition she seems to have embraced, currently owning Almond. Before she got tired of the solitude, she was a Ranger in the cold mountains. Territory: Her territory is near the Sparkle River, a large area in the cold forest, very close to the Cold Mountain borders. However she often occupies a small land at the edge of the deep woods when she is teaching the young. Mate: None

Breeze usually teaches two students at a time and follows their progress until the graduation day – they live with her for about 2-3 months. She doesn't like to teach just one because she feels that relationships with other fledglings are an important part of her student’s development. There have been exceptions in the past with some particularly obnoxious fledglings due to their parents’ influence/pay.
Bree has a very strict plan and will only make very small changes to accommodate the individual fledglings’ characteristics. 1. Inicial test 2. Flying 3. Hunting 4. Tasks and Will
Morals, basic courtesy as well as Companion education are discussed during resting periods – she rarely mentions History. When discussing tasks and Will, she will often invite Sentinels who actually perform those tasks to improve the fledglings’ chances of finding the most suitable task and to create some connections with adult Sentinels that might be useful in case the little ones need an apprenticeship.
She also teaches by "modules" (when someone just wants to learn Hunting or a particular task she's well acquainted with) and does a sort of "finishing school" with older fledglings that haven’t been taught by her (usually by minders/parents) where she hones their skills and teaches what she believes is lacking (and she always finds something lacking… >.>)

Name: Almond “Ally” Species: Skurri Age: Adult Speech Ability: 5 Intelligence: 4 Skill: Empathy. Ally is as caring and loving as Bree is rigid. She’s the one who keeps the fledglings spirits high enough so they can stand their teacher’s ways, creating an interesting balance. She’s also rather good at finding berries and little treats for her owner and the little ones but is quite possessive of any almonds she might find (or almonds that others might find for that matter). Ally will often act as Bree’s hands, anticipating any requests that might come from her owner before they are voiced.

Breeze occupies a small territory near a creek running through a rather large maple forest. Inside her borders there are several of these trees that turn bright red every autumn as well as a very large oak with low branches, a couple of hawthorns and a red mulberry tree. There is also a large patch of sunflowers that extends well beyond Breeze’s territory limits which makes this one of the most beautiful places in the late summer. It would probably be too hard for the teacher to keep such a coveted place (even with her military background) if it weren’t for the large and moody hunter who she has an arrangement with and whose territory almost perfectly encircles her teaching grounds. In the past, Bree asked some gifted crafters to build three very large platforms between the tall maple trees and that’s where she teaches the young ones that she occasionally has under her care. There is a small hollow in one of the trees where the fledglings sleep but the teacher prefers to nest on a small depression at the top of one of the smallest maples.

The Blackboard is actually a dark grey thick rectangular shaped stone that Bree uses when trying to explain something she feels is best conveyed by means other than words. It’s very rare for her to actually use it as that falls under Ally’s “chores”. Using a rough piece of chalk and her tail as an eraser, the little critter is now quite familiar with Bree’s lessons and the diagrams/simple sketches they sometimes require. The chalk is not always easy to find but Breeze has found reliable gatherers who deliver it in exchange for her permission to gather in the territory when she’s not teaching. The Blackboard is one of the most prized possessions of the teacher and one of the reasons she values her companion so much… at least enough not to eat it.

Odd Winter - Odd is one of her former students and Breeze considers him one of her greatest victories. Bree is quite proud of his development as she didn't expect an aberrant to grow up so nicely. Liana - A self-sufficient aberrant that constantly defies Bree’s pre-conceived notions; In order to have some piece of mind, Breeze considers her an exception amongst the aberrant population. Alethia - A fellow teacher and also a ghost! Osprey - A fledgling Breeze met when looking for Liana. The teacher is happy to hear about the tasks she's interested in.
