They're embarrassing.
I used to have them on my lower waist, though they've seemed to become not that noticeable. Though they've climbed up to near my waist line and there are some on my stomach and some starting to develop on my sides. (just my left for some reason though) There's also barely noticeable ones on the nasty flap on my arm. gonk
I am trying to lose weight though I wanna stop these from growing any bigger and make them much less noticeable. I hate having to change really quick in basketball because I'm afraid someone will bee the ones on my tummy. (those are my most noticeable. They're red and just crawling up)
Anything?
I'm heard of cocoa butter improving the elasticity of skin, though any other tips?

They will eventually turn pale grey and become unnoticable. coco butter is supposed to reduce their noticability and soften teh skin. you usually get them from loosing or gaining weight really quickly ( i have them on my lower stomach and upper legs) so try to losse weight slowly, also excercising will tighten skin and stop it from becommnig baggy when you loose the weight.
essentially i dont think theres an outright cure, but pregnant women get them and theres supposed to be a coco butter moisturiser for them which works great and isnt that expensive. I cant remember hte name but it comes in a white bottle with a long thin neck (like a bailys bottle) it think its palmers somthing somthing....

Another good items is Emu Oil. Its a lil costly so you may want to try the cocoa butter first. I am trying out the Emu oil atm. and its nice so far but a lil hard to find. I got mine at a store that sells all kinds of natural products.

They get emu oil by killing emus. If you're looking for a cruelty-free way to avoid, lessen, or minimize stretch marks, try any moisturizer by Aveda, Dermalogica, Nature's Gate, or Tom's Of Main.

You must be vegan then because the emu's used to make the oils are treated and raised in the same manner as Cows, pigs, and chickens only there are a lot less companies that raise them compared to the others. In Quebec I know of only two farms that do this and they are rather small too. They don't kill the ones in thhe wild in africa. I have tried Aveda before and it didn't help at all. But the other ones I never heard of before.

I'm not vegan, nor vegetarian. I was, for years, though. What I am now is a kosher-only eater. I only eat meats or meat products that are reared in cruelty-free fashion and slaughtered in the single most humane way that has ever been found: kosher slaughter. (Halal/zabiha slaughter is almost identical, and is therefore also practically-no-cruelty.) I get very ill when I do not eat animal proteins. Though my doctor was vegan himself, he agreed that I was (1) eating the right mix of non-meat proteins, and should have been fine, but (2) I wasn't fine, and therefore I needed to add fish and fowl back into my diet, in very small amounts. No mammal meat, though; I don't do well on mammal meat. For my health, it's required.
For skin care, though? I just can't feel beautiful if I know that an animal has been tortured or killed just so I can have smoother skin. I don't use beauty products that contain animal products or by-products, and I don't use beauty products that were tested on animals, or whose ingredients have been tested on animals since 1980. (Glycerin, for example, was tested on animals years and years ago, but the last time was in the 1970s, at which point there was general consensus in the cosmetic industry that they know what glycerin is and what it does; I feel okay using glycerin.)

Bio Oil is supposed to be very good for stretch marks, blemishes and dry skin. And it also smells really good! Its a little on the expensive side, but not extortionate if i remember right. I looks like it is made from calendula, lavender, rosemary, and chamomile oil, with added vitamin A and E and PurCelin Oil. PurCelin Oil is a man made replica of the preen gland oil of ducks, which they use to make their feathers water proof. So it seems pretty humane, and from personal experience it is a really luxiourous product mrgreen you can have a peak for yourself here: http://www.bio-oil.info/en/homeYou can also look at their stretch mark trials here: http://www.bio-oil.info/en/clinical-trials/stretch-mark-clinical-trial

Quote: I just can't feel beautiful if I know that an animal has been tortured or killed just so I can have smoother skin You know I love when people talk like that. They forget that there is a whole bird being slaughtered as it is for its meat and other parts of the bird. Personally I don't agree in wasting. I guess it runs in the blood being Native american (yes I am indian). Every part of an animal should be used and not thrown out. I am going to stop there about that subject because its someting that should be discussed in the apropriate places and not in the main portion of a weight loss suport guild.

Just BECAUSE something is going to be slaughtered anyway, doesn't mean that you shouldn't avoid using something made from the bits of the bird that meat eaters don't eat. You're being sucked into the industry. Being vegetarian/vegan/wishing for cruelty free products means that you make a choice to avoid those things. Maybe you don't make a difference, but it's something that's important to you. By buying these products and things, companies see an upward trend in buyers, and think. We must slaughter more chickens/emus/animals! And their faces then look something like this. : D Stretch marks are just like any other skin, if you want to get rid of them you're going to have to scrub scrub scrub. But it's not for everyone. The best thing to do is to sit in a very hot bathtub until your fingers wrinkle up. (Make sure the parts of you that have the stretch marks are under the water) And then get something abrasive. They have spa gloves that are like that and they're fairly cheap, me? I use pot scrubbers, but that's because I have uber thick skin and a high pain tolerance. But anyway, grab your thing, and scrub those stretch marks like nothing else. (Not until you bleed or anything though, you should know what that limit is, but if you don't, your skin shouldn't get too crimson red, and there should be no spots) Afterwards is when you should apply cocoa butter, or any kind of oil. For me, I use dead sea salts after I scrub as a touch up scrub. They're very abrasive, and they have loads of oils in them anyway. (They're wonderful. : D) http://www.cosmetics-deadsea.com/?gclid=CJbMt_nK8ZECFQ9ciAodhTEmpAThat's them, they also have wonderful moisturizers. But they're VERY expensive. (That said, the dead sea salts work very very well, and they last a long time because you don't need much.) This is the one I use http://www.cosmetics-deadsea.com/viewItem.asp?idProduct=342

My stretch marks aren't gone yet because I'm still fat. : P
But with scars yes, exfoliation is the only way to get rid of them, but it takes a LONG time, I was a cutter when I was young (I mean really young. 11-14 the first time round) and I used to go nuts on my arms, You can barely see most of my scars now. Just the really deep ones and they're very faint. But it's been six-nine years, and that's arm scars.
Breast scars would probably take longer, you're better off trying this bio-oil stuff, I haven't tried it.
Exfoliate with something abrasive and soap, then get out of the tub, dry off and moisturize with something intensive.

I heard body butter in general, so I got 2 big containers cause I have stretch marks on my thighs and below my butt, actually that whole area. It's faded a bit now, but it's still embarrassing.
