I'm planning on building a Giant deck and I was wondering what would make it a good deck? What would you suggest? What decks would a good Giant deck do good/bad against? How would a well one play at FNM? Is it even a good idea to build one? What colors should it be? (I know....it's alot of questions)

A good giant deck will require some purchases as a lot of good giants are rares. That or a lot of luck from some boosters. So if that isn't a viable option just reply with a simple thanks.

What colors? Your giant's should be either fully red or red with a splash of white, depending on your budget, and some other factors like preference.

As for good cards to pu in a giant deck. you'll obviously want some giants, but what else? Naturally Stinkdrinker daredevil is the best giant support creature you could ask for reduces giant's cost by two. Sunrise sovergn, is the next best thing, +2/+2 and trample to all of your giants, even one is deadly. Third would be to invest in some descent low cost red/white changlings, they can speed up the deck instead of you being open for a good few turns. I also included things like obsidion battle axe, swell of courage, and rivals duel for enhanced damage and removal. also a great addition with the sovergn, and the daredevils, is hamletback goliath, the decreased cost for your angry gians plus the trampl make it a viable choice.

A properly constructed giant deck, willl murderize anything that takes a few turns to get off the ground. Where as something like an elf deck, that can sucsessfully start attacking by turn three, if onn proper draws. Also a quick control deck will remove critical pieces of your puzle, and ruin you. also as a specific warning, milldecks, especially grimouir theif, are mean, and piinful.

I'm not sure how well it would fair in FNM, I'm not thinking to well.

I like playing my giant deck, it's nice to swarm, but every now and then I like to beatstick with a 79/79 doublestrike trample giant.

So it wouldn't win at all at FNM?
My budget is no more than $40.
What about a Brion? How many of card copies should I play? Ex. Sunrise sovergn(how many)?
I know fast decks will be my worst enemy(bummer)
I was planning on making it red with a splash of white for Brion(how many of that should I play?)
Other than that, I was planning on a build that uses burn to control the pace until I get out my big giants

Cheap burn, like shock, and rift bolt, could easily controll some of what you would face.

Firstly forty should be enough depending on what giants you already have.

For Brion, I would run three or four. The sovergn, I would defineiteyly run four, same for the stinkdrinker daredevil. other things are really dependant upon how your going to play it. Our giant decks are obviously going to be very different. I used more white to add some cheap shapeshifters in, to cover the weak end of my deck.

A giant deck probably wouldn;t win at FNM.

The thing is, I'm trying to make it Lorwyn/MorningTide only.
It'd be nice, but if it'd be a better deck with cards, that's fine. If the splash of white wouldn't work out, I could always just make it a full red Giant/Burn mrgreen

Even then, the "best" giant deck would be well outside your $40 range. I looked at the prices on Starcity Games. You're looking at cards like Countryside Crusher($15), Taurean Mauler($6), Chameleon Colossus($17.50, out of stock), I could go on.

Well I've gone and decided that if I make this deck, it's gonna be casual and not competitive.

A giant deck is viable in FNM but your budget for a solid R/W build is gonna run you about $140 wwhat with Mauler/Crusher/Ampitheater

IF you want i can post the deck i built for my friend for FNM and he has t8ed 3 weeks in a row

Please do. Just send links for all the cards if you can. I might not know what all of them are. What about a solid red with the vivid lands for Brion, cause that's the only real white I'd want to add

i will get the deck posted in a day or two when i have a little more time to fish it out...

But Brion is not the only good W card

Oblivion Ring helps with removal

Avian Changeling is a flyer and helps get something on the board instaed of waiting 5 turns to play a gaint..

there are many others in Mor i cant think of right this second but 65% R and 35% W ais pretty good...

yoiu can make a decent Lor Block R/W giants deck

but you need changelings to help you early on other wise Elves will have you at 2 life before you play your first giant..

and rogues eats you alive..

Well seeing as how my Giant deck will be casual, I'm more focused on working on my Warrior deck for FNM. So take your time with that deck posting
