Perun gave a roll of his eyes. Why would she not submit herself to him? He was the most beautiful in the land and yet she refuses him? It was blasphemy! Following the grey mare as she ran swift and fast and he in the sky he couldn't help but wonder what she was up to. Ah wells. All he wanted was children to let his parents fawn over as well as his betrothed but if he couldn't have her he wanted her children.

Reaching the entrance of the cave he landed with gracefulness that any would be jealous of avoiding to kick dirt up on his coat and tail. He eyed the cave from the outside and stubbornly waited at the entrance. There was no way he was going to go inside a dark cave that could be full of mud and falling dirt. It was not happening. He would wait outside for her. Even if it meant waiting forever. He was not stepping foot into the more then likely twenty million times over dirty cave. Never.

Sonata watched the cave entrance, and within just a few moments, spotted her betrothed just beyond the cave. Why wasn't he coming in? Either he was smart, or just plain arrogant. Either he knew he would be at a disadvantage in the cave, or maybe... he was just afraid of getting his pretty coat dirty. Therefore, he was probably just plain arrogant and didn't want to dirty. Idiot.

Oh well, it suited her just fine. So, with a smirk, she proudly tossed her head and pranced forward a few paces, still well within the cave where he couldn't reach her. "What's the matter, Perun?" She taunted, flicking her lengthy pink-tipped tail. "Afraid of getting a little dirty in here? Or have you realized that I have the upper hoof in a cave where you can't fly?" He was probably just stupid, of course. Being in a cave...

...oh. Oh crap.

Her panicked thoughts didn't betray her confidence; that was the last thing she needed right now. But, she had realized, there was no food here. Nor water. She had to go atop the cliffs to graze and find fresh water. She couldn't stay in here forever. Well s**t.

"Please my love! Don't stay in there." Perun pleaded as he waited for her at the cave entrance. The love of his life was stubborn he deemed as he continued his vigil at the cave entrance. He hoped that she would come out soon. All he wanted was a family and they would be near the top of the list of things to care about. After his looks of course. "Can we not talk about this reasonably without you trying to kill me? It's not like I was the one that set up our betrothal. Please?" The lightning stallion's voice was quiet as he pleaded to what seemed a brick wall.

"I'm not coming out!" She snorted, flicking her ears back and she pawed at the hard-packed sand with a peach-colored forehoof. "I refuse to come out until you're long gone. And," she said, flicking her lengthy pink-tipped tail. "We've already tried that," she chimed tauntingly, leaning forward on her forelegs to make herself seem taller than she really was. She really wasn't sure how long she could stay in there, or when he'd leave -- if at all -- but it was worth trying. If he saw any sort of break in her confidence he'd be all over it, and she'd be done for. That much she knew, she didn't need Milo telling her that.

"It doesn't matter to me who set up the damn betrothal," she spat, arching her neck gracefully and pointing her horn straight at him, but she remained where she was standing. "All I know is I'm no longer part of any herd, and therefore any pre-arranged matters are null and void. Which means," she explained slowly for his benefit, because gods knew he needed it, and she lifted her head to stare at him coldly with one bright eye, "that you have no hold over me whatsoever. You are not getting children from me ever. I will not change my mind on the matter, so I suggest you simply leave me be. I might refrain from trying to kill you if you leave now." Hopefully he wouldn't get a sudden burst of courage and try to enter the cave. Then, she really would be screwed over, as her only advantage over the lightning-marked stallion would be stripped from her. As long as he refused to come in, she was safe. More or less.

"Well I'm not leaving untill you come out my love." The ever so persistent stallion said. All he wanted was to have just one child with her. Just one. Was that so difficult? Ah wells. He would just have to break his love down or get someone to do it for him. Breaking someone down took a lot of work which meant his coat would lose it's shine he worked so hard to get. He ignored her from this point on as he waited outside the cave entrance. She had to leave eventually but until then he was going to think all about...himself. 'My I am one sexy stallion. Why won't she come to me? How can she resist my beautiful and sexy me? Who's the sexiest? Well that's me of course!'

First he chased her and wouldn't leave her alone, and now he was ignoring her? Oh, this was just too much. Well, as long as he wasn't coming into any caves at all, she might as well be in a comfortable one. She snorted lightly as she eyed him, he seemed a bit absorbed in his own thoughts. Probably about how sexy he thought himself; no doubt, the egocentric little drekhallah. He'd probably die if anyone called him such a name, he seemed like the type.

With no warning whatsoever, Sonata suddenly bolted towards the mouth of the cave, horn pointed straight ahead. Whether Perun was there or not mattered little now, but either way she charged towards the entrance and out, not caring if she struck him on her way or not. Honestly, the only thing on her mind was to get to Maurice's cave as quickly as possible. Maybe with a few treats that would last her a while, as she didn't think she'd be going up atop the cliffs soon with the lightning-marked git following her.

Thankfully, she remembered that some type of grass grew along the far edges of the beaches, skirted up besides the cliffs, and as she ran she managed to grab a few mouthfuls of the long grasses to save for later. She'd be hungry of course, but she wasn't going to starve herself because of this idiot. It took her a matter of seconds to reach Maurice's cave and she dove in, quickly slowing to a halt once she was fairly inside. She set the grass she'd collected in a pile in the corner, and settled herself comfortably nearby it. If Perun didn't go in there, he couldn't come in here.

At the speed in which his love ran he almost did not see her leave. "Sonata my love! Wait!" he called out as he too turned and ran. Though he was slow compared to her and also did not want to dirty his precious coat. "I will find you my love! Our love will always allow us to find each other!" He called after her even though she was most likely to far to hear. Perun walked in the direction his love ran knowing full well that he would find her once more. It was to be destiny...and their fate.

Of course she heard him, how could anyone not hear him? All the same, she ignored him as he didn't seem to be coming in any sort of hurry. With a satisfied snort, she leaned over and picked up a few blades of the coarse beach grass. There wasn't much this time of year, but that was fine. She'd figure something out, of course. She hummed thoughtfully to herself as she chewed, her bright eyes focused on several of the shells lining the cave walls. Hopefully Maurice would return soon, he had been gone for such a long time.
